Description:
London: Printed for Private Circulation by Charles Beckett, 1875. Hardcover. Very Good. [5] pp 6-58 A three act play by A H Armytage, printed in small numbers for 'private circulation'. Armytage appears to have been a relative of George Armytage, fifth Baronet of Kirklees in Yorkshire whose neat circular ownership stamp appears on the endpaper and title page with A H Armytage's name written in pencil beside the pseudonymous 'Pax'. The book is bound in black morocco with blind and gilt decorations and rubbing to the extremities. The play text is set in three locations: in the country, hunting quarters and home quarters and appears to be a pretty broad comedy. Obviously printed for a restricted audience it's not know whether the play was ever performed. Very Good 1875

Description:
London: Little and Collins, 2001. 220 x 143 mm. Near Fine. Grey cardboard folder containing correspondence between Teresa Collins and Ann Towns regarding the order of a handmade rug. With an original watercolour (16x22cm) on paper of a rug design entitled 'Be-Bop' bespoke July 2001. We have recently acquired the library of Harry Horlock Stringer who was a leading British potter at the old Fulham Pottery in the 1950's where he concentrated on earthenware. Later he moved to Taggs Yard in Barnes, south west London, where he built and ran his own school, welcoming pupils and making friends such as Ginger Rogers from across the world at a time when studio pottery was enjoying newfound popularity. Stringer experimented with his own glazes and firing techniques, and wrote a book on Raku, becoming a Fellow of the Craft Potters Association, editing the association's journal for a time and exhibiting widely as well as lecturing at home and abroad.
