Londini: apud Fratres Vaillant et N. Prevost, 1721 First edition. Personal copy of Henry Nelson Coleridge (nephew and son-in-law of poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge), with his ownership signature dated "Hampstead 1832" to the title page. Full vellum, spine ruled and decorated in blind, handwritten "Horcitius" title to spine, all edges stained red, pink marbled endpapers. Very good or better, with some bowing to the boards, minor splitting at the spine heads, otherwise sturdy binding, small loss to the bottom corner of page 213/214, a few minor and scattered pieces of pencil marginalia, light soiling to the boards and page edges, else bright and clean. Overall, a very tight copy in an early binding, with excellent provenance. This copy of Q. After his death in 1834, Henry became the executor of his uncle's estate and the… Read More
