London: Hodder & Stoughton, no date [circa 1913]. [Illustrated Drama] SIGNED LIMITED EDITION. Quarto (32 x 26cm), pp.[4] viii; 198 [2]. With a loose flier for the original exhibition of Thomson's watercolour illustrations for the book, November and December 1913. Complete with 22 colour plates by Thomson, including a frontispiece, each mounted with a captioned tissue guard. Number 464 of 1000 copies thus, SIGNED by the illustrator in black ink to the limitation page. Publisher's full vellum, with gilt tooling and decoration to spine and upper, as well as some contrasting purple ruling to upper. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. A lovely crisp, clean copy, showing just a touch of spotting to endpapers, some minor expected bowing to boards, and a little light wear to vellum. Lacks original silk ties. Near fine.

Paris: Warner Brothers [Hammer Film Productions], 1970. [Movie Memorabilia] ORIGINAL LOBBY CARDS. A set of 12 lobby cards from the French version of the film 'When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth' written and directed by Val Guest, and starring Victoria Vetri. Colour lithographic images on light stock measuring 24 x 30cm, with studio credits in French to a box in one corner of the image. Lightly handled and creased. Near fine. Note on Format: the Lobby Card is a small poster or titled still printed on card stock, usually 8 x 10 inches (UK and Europe) or 11 x 14 inches (US) in a landscape view. Generally produced in sets of eight in colour for Britain and America, intended for display in a cinema foyer or lobby.

This copy is custom-bound by hand in half black calf, lettered in gilt, raised bands to spine, matching cloth over boards, with original illustrated softcovers bound in at rear. A fine copy, inside and out. Contains all of Fleming's nine original James Bond short stories and novellas, previously issued in hardback as as For Your Eyes Only (1960, five stories) and Octopussy (1966, two stories). The majority of tales are set in holiday locations such as the Seychelles, the Bahamas, the Jamaican coast, the Lido in Venice, a lakeside summerhouse in Vermont and the Mediterranean port of Santa Maria. Various sizes, items housed in a 13 x 10 inch photograph archive box with tray lid. Contents fine, lid with a few light marks, printed label to upper. From the comprehensive James Bond collection assembled by Jon Gilbert. His encyclopaedic guide to the works of Ian Fleming won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography.

Publisher's photographic softcovers. Both volumes are absolutely fine throughout, having been carefully stored since publication. A paperback original, preceding the hardcover edition by five months. The front cover was revised for the second printing, adding the uniform white margin typical of the Modern Classics series. This margin/border was present only on the rear of the first printing. This pair comes from the comprehensive Ian Fleming Bibliographical Archive assembled by Jon Gilbert, with pencil ownership within. His encyclopaedic guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography. Gilbert E18a (1).

The true first hardcover edition of this title, preceded by a paperback edition in the Penguin Modern Classics series, which did not include the introduction. Liberally illustrated with very fine in-text colour-printed wood engravings after Kate Greenaway's drawings. Publisher's cream cloth with titles in both gilt and black and a colour illustration to both boards. Titles also in black to spine; all edges gilt; green-coated endpapers. Rear fly-leaf removed, with blue pigment from the pastedown transferring quite heavily onto final leaf of text. Generally quite clean, with perhaps a hint of toning and a few isolated spots and marks. Upper hinge split, but holding fairly well. Moderate rubbing and toning to cloth; more-so to spine, where the titles are quite faint. A really delightful high-quality children's book. Very good. Something of a rarity in Victorian children's literature — a make-believe pirate adventure with a girl as the main character!

Contents clean, owner bookplate beneath flap, light spotting to edges, some minor rubs and marks to covers and jacket, which is a little chipped and torn to crown and extremities. Very good. Thirteen acclaimed mysteries, being the winners of the Sixth Annual Detective Short-Story Contest sponsored by Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine.

Lower corner of leaves from p.379 to end torn, with some loss to text and an additional vertical slash near the left margin from p.391 to end. Generally quite a crisp, clean copy. Moderate wear to cloth; spine rubbed and toned. Joints just starting in places; some pulling to head and tail of spine. Very good.

Publisher's dark blue cloth, titles in silver to spine, dust-jacket designed by Michael Embden with printed price of 30s (£1.50). Internally fine. Cloth clean and bright. Wrapper shows very well, slightly rubbed to folds, some nicking to top and bottom of spine and to the corners. Uncommon. Near fine. First published in 1970 by Ace in the US, this is the first British edition.

London: Bloomsbury, 2001, 2001, 2008. [Harry Potter] FIRST EDITION COLLECTION, all first impressions. Three volumes (two paperback originals, one hardcover). A fine, as-new set. A pair of charitable publications issued in March 2001 (for Comic Relief), being amusing replicas of school textbooks borrowed from Hogwarts Library. The final volume, which has been mentioned in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was published in hardback in 2008 (with proceeds again to a charity, Lumos), following the auction of a manuscript version which was bought by Amazon in 2007 for a world-record $3million.
