J. Walcot Burton., 1934. First edition. No place. Two folded sheets and six etchings in cloth-backed folder with internal flaps. Produced to celebrate the tercentenary of the production of Milton's Comus at Ludlow Castle. The six etchings illustrate that masque. Introduced by John Drinkwater - the introduction is followed by comments on each of the six plates and a list of subscribers. Three etchings by Frank Brangwyn and three by William Walcot. All the etchings are signed. Unprinted tissue guards. A woodcut of Ludlow Castle is printed on the largest of the inner flaps of the portfolio. There were fifty-one subscribersTissue guards creased. One tissue guard missing. One or two of the plates are slightly creased at the edges. One of the inner flaps of the portfolio has a closed tear. Very good indeed. Very scarce: Library Hub lists only the copy in Oxford.

She is generally very lazy and is seldom virtuous.''). Inside the front cover is the small ticket of Selfridge's in London which suggests the book was originally purchased before the voyage to India.Covers rubbed and tanned with some loss to the paper on the front board. Good, internally very good. Very scarce.

Thirteen maps, the first being opposite page 53, the next ten folded and tipped in at the rear, the final two folded and tipped onto rear endpaper. Originally issued in blue wrappers with the last two maps in a pocket. Recently rebound in blue cloth, not retaining the original wrappers. This report was commissioned by the Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain to supersede and thereby bury the Peel Report which had found the Mandate to be unworkable and had set out partition boundaries. Woodhead duly dismissed the idea of partition.Staining (tea?) to inner margins of first 20 pages. Some creasing to edges and corners of maps. Very good.
