Binding is good with some loosening at the top. Boards have light edgewear with one minimal corner crushing. Mild tanning to board edges and spine, which has mild crushing to ends. Unclipped jacket has minor edgewear with chips, tears, and creasing. The Dryden Translation revised by Arthur Houg Clough.

Blue cloth with gilt titles on front cover along with embossed red rosary and moon and star in silver-light. Light rubbing at extremities. Covers faded and rubbed. Spine and edges have minor bumping, as well as some shelf/edge wear. The inside of Volume I is clean and unmarked except for 2.00 on fly page. Volume II is clean and unmarked except for previous owner's name and "November 1899" written on fly page. 502 pp + 578 pp are yellowed. Binding is good. Lewis Wallace was a general for the Union army during the Civil War. He went on to become governor of the New Mexico Territory out west.
