Description:
This classic work by Siegfried Goebel has not weathered the years well! Though its 455 pages are unmarked and intact, the previously exquisite cover is worn and the spine is separated from the Rough cut or Deckled-edged textblock. Summary: Jesus' illustrative teaching in parables in the Gospels are central to understanding Jesus' life and death and also to the nation of Israel. Nearly a third of the words of Jesus recorded in the four Gospels are found in His parables. Siegfried Goebel's book contains an exhaustive study and detailed analysis of these parables. A critical introduction defines "parable" and places Jesus in the context of religious instruction in first-century Palestine. Poor; the spine is separated from the deckled edged textblock. Loose hinge. NO notes, underlining or highlighting. Previous owner's name stamped on first free endpaper and a small space has been cut in the Free End Paper (see picture) to view writing on the page behind it. Cover shows much wear to this formerly… Read More

Parental resources are provided in this easy-to-read 145-page paperback which grants permission to reproduce the pages. "For success in youth ministry just add parents!" Description:
BRAND NEW! Charles Swindoll, a prolific author, famous pastor and educator, writes in very readable style in all his books. He has written 8 books on Bible persons such as this one on The Apostle Paul (however this particular book was part of a book club offer and not from the Word Publisher series). In his series, Swindoll presents intriguing investigations of the lives of Bible characters. He interweaves biblical truths and contemporary insight to show how the godly principles that motivated these Bible persons are available to today. The author captures God's grace in Paul's life as earlier in his life he had been responsible for the death of many early Christians until dramatically changed by God's grace. Paul's life was far from ordinary because he understood the amazing power of God's grace. Bonus-Glossy full-color maps of Paul's Missionary Journey and 4 full pages for your own Notes.New-OPENS AS UNREAD! Pristine condition. Has not been read! NO MARKS! Description:
Though read, there are limited markings in this must-have reasonably priced New Testament commentary on Philippians. Scholarly, yet easy-to-read, Robertson provides verse-by-verse exposition of Philippians. The flyleaf states: "Dr. Robertson brings to the study of any New Testament passage the ripest Greek scholarship that the world knows. But there is another quality for interpreting the Word of God, equally as necessary…sympathetic spiritual insight…. Dr. Robertson hs also this qualification for unfolding to us not the thought alone but the feeling also that makes forever living the epistle of the great apostle to the nation…. Each chapter treats a section of the epistle—explaining, illustrating, and applying the biblical text. The happiness associated with being a Christian…is emphasized throughout." First published, January 1917 by Revel, this is a 149-page hardback Broadman Press undated edition (most likely 1959 edition), "Revised and Edited by W. C. Strickland."Good-Very Good.… Read More

A riveting read! In 1962, Don and Carol Richardson risked their lives to share the gospel with the Sawi people of New Guinea. Peace Child tells their unforgettable story of living among these headhunters and cannibals. Reviewer: "This was one of the best missionary biographies that I have read. It was also the most gruesome. The author paints a vivid picture of missionary work among the cannibalistic, headhunting Sawi tribe in Netherlands New Guinea (now West Papua, Indonesia.)" Description:
This brand-new 539-page reference book is designed as a textbook for the beginning course in the study of the Old Testament with a historical and interpretative approach. The authors write that this volume "surveys the history of Israel, beginning with Genesis as the theological prelude to the history of a people of faith, and carrying Israel's story to the century preceding the Christian era…. Using the Old Testament as a basis, archaeological, literary, and theological contributions are utilized to give a clear, overall picture of Old Testament history. Throughout, Israel's story is placed in its Ancient Near Eastern setting, but is interpreted as distinct because of its profound religious dimensions."There are helpful tools such as chronological charts, maps, glossary, annotated bibliographies, a general bibliography, and an 11-page Index.

Description:
This is an extremely attractive looking volume though read! In excellent condition! The back cover states: "Nothing cripples a church's effectiveness like internal strife. In Philippi, Paul addressed a congregation whose private struggles were compounded by opposition and suffering from without. Paul's strategy was to write them a letter of friendship and moral exhortation, reminding them of their "partnership in the gospel," their mutual suffering for the cause of Christ, and their need to "stand firm in one spirit." His approach and counsel can serve us well today. In this warm, well-written study of Philippians, readers will find an introduction that discusses the letter's occasion and purpose, authorship, and other background information, as well as its important theological themes. Passage-by-passage commentary follows that seeks to explain what the letter means to us today as well as what it meant for its original hearers. Students, pastors, Bible teachers and everyone who wants to understand…
