American Book-Stratford Press. New York. 1957. Hardcover. The brown covers are in very good condition with only minor rubbing on top of spine. The dust jacket is bright orange and black with only some fraying at top of spine; it is in a Mylar protective cover. The interior pages are very clean and bright; there is no writing or marking inside. The book contains profiles of several important pioneers in the post-revolutionary war history of Upstate New York including Nathaniel Rochester, Joseph Smith, Mary Jemison, and the Wadsworth family. The book contains several black/white photographs of historical people and buildings.

Softcover. The beige covers are toned around the edges, there are some minor creases and smudge marks. There is a small, faint name stamp (previous owner?) on the top of the front cover. The binding is solid. The interior pages are in very good condition, with no writing or markings detected. The book contains 32 colored plates of fungal species. All plates are present and generally in very good condition; some have light foxing marks near the top. Most of the colored illustrations on these plates are from paintings by the author and show different species of fungi from several genera including Amanita, Boletus, and Morchella. The Bullard Company. Boston. 1912. Date on title page. 407 pages. Hardcover. The tan covers are in good condition, their is general wear with mild bumping at the corners. The front cover is profusely illustrated and, while there is some fading to the illustration, it is still in good condition. The spine is faded and scuffed in spots with the title and author still readable. The back cover is faded with some light soiling and spotting. The binding is solid. The interior of the book is in good condition. The only writing detected is a previous owners' name on the front endpaper. The pages and page edges are mildly toned. There are small stains or soiling on a few pages (detected on less than 10 pp.); there is no foxing detected in the book. The book is illustrated with 57 full page black and white plates. These plates include photographs of individual plants and gardens and are in very good condition. This is a nice horticulture book from the early 20th century.

There is significant fading and color loss on the front and back covers. Some cloth and nearly all color is missing from the spine. There is moderate bumping/rolling on top and bottom of spine and corners. The title is in gold on the front cover and still relatively bright. While the spine exterior is poor in appearance, the binding itself is intact. The hinges are a bit loose, but intact. They may have been repaired at one time. The interior of this book is in very good condition. There is no writing or foxing detected. The pages are generally clean and bright. The frontis is a portrait of Marshall P.
