October 28, 1958." 200 copies were printed, according to the Grabhorn Bibliography (1957-1966). Slight scattered foxing, minor toning to extremities. Broomfield A43.

Original publisher's quarter red morocco over buff linen cloth boards, spine lettered in gilt, bound by Gray Parrot. Slight foxing to cloth boards, else fine. Original prospectus laid in. 26 wood engravings and 26 illustrated initials by Alan James Robinson, with text compiled and annotated by Laurie Block. An exquisite collection of wood engravings illustrating textual extracts regarding real and mythical animals which are, "for the most part, the earliest first-hand accounts, in English, of the animals pictured... although there have been many bestiaries throughout the centuries, some of them strikingly beautiful, this edition breaks from tradition in its text, calligraphy and its style of illustration" [from the prospectus].

Miami: Pandanus Press, 1951. First edition. [8], 10, [6] pp. Hand-sewn blue wrappers, printed title label on front cover. One of 240 copies, hand-set and printed by Preston H. Dettman. Some edgewear and surface wear to covers, very minor old staining, contents clean. The very rare first publication by an important American poet, preceding his first regularly published book The Summer Anniversaries by nine years. Justice earned his PhD at Iowa in 1954 and was long associated with the Iowa Writers' Workshop. Despite the limitation, quite scarce; OCLC locates eleven copies.

One of 400 copies printed (although many copies were lost in shipment). xviii, 113 pp. Red cloth, printed spine label. Edited, designed and printed by Peter Rutledge Koch. A collection of essays written by Everson on the topic of printing. Facsimile of the Equinox Press announcement broadside tipped onto the rear pastedown. A fine copy with original erratum slip and printer's apology laid in in original printed envelope.

Madras and New York: Hanuman Books, 1992. First edition. 82 pp. Brown textured wrappers, with the dust jacket. Slight rubbing to front edge, else fine. Number 48 in the Hanuman series, this copy is inscribed by Frank on the half-title and dated 1992, and quite rare thus.

Staple-bound wraps. 52 pp. Includes facsimile images from Danielewski's journals for his National Book Award-nominated novel, with text transcriptions in English and German. Also includes a fold-out drawing by Jorinde Voigt, Symphonic Area (2009). Slightly bumped at the head of the spine, else a fine copy. Signed by Danielewski with his trademark Z on the title-page.

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1958. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good +/very good. 62 pp. Deep blue cloth, lettered in gilt and silver, with the dust jacket. Minor dulling to gilt, small old stain at foot of spine; jacket spine torn and crinkled at head, affecting the author's first name, but complete. Inscribed on the flyleaf "For Bill Merwin with regards / and growing admiration / Bill / New York / 1958" A nice association between two poets who were both initially published in the Yale Series of Younger Poets and who both later served as U.S. Poet Laureate.

Pencil drawing of D.H. Lawrence, 7 1/4 x 9 inches. Matted and framed, total size 16 x 17 3/4 inches. Fine condition, not examined out of frame. Robinson published a collection of Lawrence's poems, Tortoises, in 1983 through his private Cheloniidae Press. The press also published two exquisite editions of Poe's The Raven, among many other distinguished works, and Robinson is well-known for his interpretations of classic literature and nature, particularly as they intersect.

The first book by one of the founding members of the Fugitives, and author of the two-volume The Tennessee, published in the Rivers of America series.
