Internally clean throughout with no inscriptions or annotations etc. No dustwrapper.. First Edition.

Two tracts by Swinburne, "Ode to the Proclamation of the French Republic", 1870, F S Ellis. and "Note of an English Republican on The Muscovite Crusade", 1876, Chatto & Windus. Both first editions, in sewn wrappers. Both are very good copies, the Ode's pages are unopened, and the Note is a little worn at the spine ends and a little dust soiled. Both booklets are housed in a cloth bound hard bound folder, and is itself housed in a leather bound box, fashioned to resemble a finely bound leather volume, with raised bands and gilt decorations on the spine, with author and title in gilt lettering on black labels, namely : "Swinburne" and "Tracts on Various Subjects". The leather book box is very stained along the margins, and the leather cracked and brittle at the top and rear edges and measures. 9 X 6.5 inches., . First Edition. Original Wraps. Very Good/No Jacket.
