Description:
Squadron/Signal Publications, 2007. New book, 80 pages, SS5549. The Grumman OV-1 Mohawk was the first turboprop aircraft to enter into US Army service to fill the role of visual, photo and electronic reconnaissance. It was very unique in its design, and it never received the recognition for its accomplishments in over 40 years of service. Originally planned for both the Army and the Marines, the OV-1was used just by the Army, though NASA had a test aircraft for testing jet engine noise. Civilian users included the US Forest Service, the Environmental Protection Service and US Customs, which used the Mohawk to track drug traffic. The OV-1D aircraft from the 15th MI (military intelligence) and the 224th MI groups participated during Desert Storm, accruing over 5,500 flight hours with 2 planes lost. The Mohawk was retired from U.S. Army service in 1996. More than 150 photographs, line drawings, and 12 color profiles.. Soft Cover. As New. Illus. by Greer, Don. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.

Description:
London, United Kingdom: Simon & Schuster Ltd, 2003. New book, 354 pages. As the struggle for independence in his native Chechnya moved into its bloodiest phase, Dr Khassan Baiev was enjoying a life of affluence as a plastic surgeon in Moscow. But hearing reports that war was about to break out in his homeland, he knew his skills could be more usefully employed helping the wounded. Against the advice of everyone, he returned to Chechnya and found it filled with gangs of rebel fighters, orphans and victims of terrible violence. It is remarkable how anyone could perform intricate surgery under terrible conditions, but he was driven by his allegiance to the Hippocratic Oath: a vow to serve anyone who needed his help. The Oath placed him outside politics, binding him to operate on Chechens and Russians alike, but this led Muslim extremists to swear on the Koran to kill him, and the Russian military to regard him as a traitor. He narrowly escaped execution several times. For now Khassan Baiev is a…

Description:
Osprey Pub Co, 2020. New book, 192 pages. Empires have fallen, and the land is broken. The great oathmarks that once stood as testaments to the allegiances and might of nations have crumbled into ruin. In this lost age, fealty and loyalty are as valuable as gold and as deadly as cold iron, and war is ever-present. Created by Joseph A. McCullough, designer of Frostgrave and Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago, Oathmark is a mass-battle fantasy wargame that puts you in command of the fantasy army you've always wanted, whether a company of stalwart dwarves or a mixed force with proud elves, noble men, and wild goblins standing shoulder-to-shoulder in the battle-line. Fight through an integrated campaign system and develop your realms from battle to battle, adding new territories, recruiting new troop types, and growing to eclipse your rivals, or lose what you fought so hard to gain and fall as so many would-be emperors before you.. Description:
Osprey Pub Co, 2020. New book, 80 pages. Dark necromancers have laid claim to forsaken kingdoms and summoned forth the souls of those who defiled their oathmarks. The dead, once again, march to war. As armies of wraiths and skeletal warriors bring destruction to their lands, the small kingdoms of the Marches also turn to the spirits of the dead. Gathering the most ancient and powerful of oathmarks, they recall the spectral forms of those that died in loyal battle to once again come forth in defence of their kingdoms. With these ethereal warriors joining their ranks, the kings of the Marches may yet stand. This supplement for Oathmark: Battles of the Lost Age introduces the forces of the dead to the game. Some armies will use dark magic to summon the souls and corpses of traitors from the past, while others will recall the spirits of loyal warriors that gave their lives and willingly fight again. This book also includes expanded rules for characters, which allow you to chart their progress from…

Osprey Pub Co, 2020. New book, 80 pages. A supplement for Oathmark: Battles of the Lost Age, giving players rules for creating elite units of warriors known as battlesworn and charting their progress from battle-to-battle. In the horror and chaos of battle, the outcome can often hang on the briefest of moments. It is at these times that the actions of one unit can make the difference between victory and defeat. Wise kings know this, and realize that it is often prudent to hold back their best units until they can make the greatest difference. These elite units, called the 'battlesworn', are more than just powerful combatants, they are symbols of the glory and honour of a kingdom. All young warriors hope to one day join their ranks and add their oathmarks beside those legendary fighters. Description:
Osprey Pub Co, 2013. New book, 64 pages, OWG5. Two armies prepare for war. Thor, surrounded by crackling lightning, leads the assault of a horde of Viking berserkers. Preparing to receive this charge stands a wall of grim-faced, determined Spartan hoplites, commanded by Ares himself. Of Gods and Mortals is a skirmish wargame that gives players the opportunity to command the greatest heroes, warriors and monsters of legend - and the gods and goddesses that ruled over them. Whether you want to lead the forces of Greek, Egyptian, Celtic or Norse mythology to battle, or build your own pantheon, Of Gods and Mortals presents everything you need. Each player takes control of a god, a handful of legendary characters and a number of mortal troops, forming a warband that must work in harmony to succeed. Although the gods are incredibly powerful, they are only as strong as the faith of the mortals who follow them - if their worshippers are cut down, gods become weaker, and if a deity is vanquished in combat, its…

Description:
Osprey Pub Co, 2012. New book, 80 pages, RAID34. Although somewhat overshadowed by Wellingtons main campaign in the north, the Alcantara raid was an outstanding success. The primary objective of alarming and distracting the French forces in Spain was achieved. Furthermore, the raiders also succeeded in preventing a French incursion into Portugal and tied down one of Napoleons best marshals. There were further raids to come, but the 1809 Alcantara raid delivered a strong, permanent message: that the Anglo-Portuguese were willing and able to strike back against the French, and that they would support their Spanish allies as much as they were able.. Description:
Osprey Pub Co, 2012. New book, 64 pages, CMD25. General Omar Bradley was the premier US Army tactical commander in the European Theater of Operations in 1944-45. A West Point classmate of Dwight Eisenhower, Bradley was the quintessential US field commander of World War II, elevated to high command with little combat experience but a solid track record as a skilled planner and organizer. Bradley was part of a small cadre of highly skilled young officers groomed for higher command in the austere and bankrupt 1930s. Bradley began World War II in creating the new 82nd Division which would go on to fame as one of the US Army's premier airborne divisions. Bradley spent most of the early years of the war in George Patton's shadow, first as an assistant corps commander under Patton in Tunisia in early 1943, then as a corps commander under Patton on Sicily in July 1943. Patton's social blunders pushed him out of contention for the coveted spot leading the First US Army on D-Day, and Bradley's…
