n.p., n.d.. 1st edition, broadside. Specially signed in black ink by Hall. As described in the Kelleher bibliogrphy: "6 x 9 inches; black print on light blue paper. Note: This version includes two extra stanzas not found in the version that appears in KICKING THE LEAVES (Harper & Row, 1978), and OLD AND NEW POEMS (Ticknor and Fields, 1990)" from the Hall bibliography (Kelleher G6). Believed to be the earliest separate printed version of this poem -- one of Hall's trademark verses. Very scarce broadside.

Middletown: Wesleyan U Press, 1987. 1st ed, full black cloth, w/dj. Strong jacket review by Stanley Plumly. A fine tight copy, very bright, appears unopened.

New York: Parnassus, 2008. 1st edition, limited (1/125) numbered and signed, illustrated broadside. A scarce broadside appearance by the former poet laureate of the United States, illustrated with a drawing by the highly acclaimed artist, Robert Berlind, and signed by both. The broadside is designed by Ron Gordon at the Oliphant Press, printed by Kallemeyn Press, and issued Z folded with the colophon on verso. Overall size: 9 inches high x 17.25 inches wide, folded to 9 inches high x 5.75 inches wide. The poet Kay Ryan (b. 1945, California) received both a bachelor's and master's degree from UCLA. The illustrator Robert Berlind (b. 1938, New York) received his MFA from Yale, and had a long association with the Tibor de Nagy Gallery in New York. The present offering represents a fund raising publication for PARNASSUS through the generosity of Kay Ryan, and is available through PARNASSUS and Jett W. Whitehead Rare Books. As new condition at the published price.

"Brief and apparently simple, the poems . . . are elegantly constructed and make use of a verse form seldom attempted in contemporary poetry" (from the jacket.) The red background of the dust jacket is quite sunned, else only gentle wear.

New York: Norton, 2007. 1st edition, uncorrected proof, original printed paperwraps (as issued). A lovely copy of Plumly's collection (pp 96) of poems that was a finalist for the National Book Award in poetry. Publisher's material laid-in. A bright, fine copy.

New York: Angel Records, 1954. 1st edition and original issue, with four page booklet enclosed, and original illustrated box (as issued). According to the Eliot Bibliography (Gallup, E4i) this was "Not published." Identified as "Angel Record 30002" this was "Recorded by Angel Records with Robert Donat as speaker, and The Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by the composer, on one 33 1/3 r.p.m. ten-inch record" (Gallup, page 355). The original glassine appears unopened, leading us to believe the record was never played. In spite of the bibliography statement regarding the item was "not published," OCLC records four copies. Cover illustration on box is "after a lithograph by Edouard Manet" as noted on cover. Several years later, a later version with a different publication identification number is recorded on OCLC. The present offering of the original recording is considered rare/scarce. Minimal wear to attractive box primarily at corners, else fine. (Additional postage required.).

Concord, N. H.: Ewert, 1992. 1st edition, limited (1/450), illustrated cover. Specially signed by Hall below his printed name in black ink. Handsomely designed and printed at Firefly Press, and issued as a holiday greeting in December, 1992, for private distribution. The illustration is printed from an original woodcut in dark green ink. Uncommon Hall item. Fine condition.

New York: Random House, 1999. 1st edition, boards, with illustrated dust jacket. A collection of 53 poems, including the long (pp. 8) title poem. Strong jacket review by Billy Collins. Fine condition.

Tungsten Press, N. H., 2021. 1st edition, limited (1/74) numbered, signed, original hand tied paperwraps, and printed tan dust jacket (as issued). A handsome chapbook, set in Bembo type and printed on Zerkall Butten and Gmund papers. Signed and numbered by Massey in black ink on the colophon page. The text is a long poem, presented in nine Roman numbered sections, each section appearing on a separate page. A fine copy, offered in 'as new' condition at the published price.

Iowa City: The Stone Wall Press, 1963. 1st edition, limited (1/220) numbered, original brown boards, with printed paper label on spine (as issued). Levine's first book, issued in a small press run of only 220 copies. The present copy is hand numbered "91" on the colophon page, which states "Of 220 copies printed by hand from Romanee types on Golden Hind paper, this is number 91". Only a trace of sunning to the brown boards, else fine.

Pittsburgh: University of Pittsburgh Press, 1972. 1st edition, full red cloth, w/illustrated dj. "Half of this volume contains Samuel Hazo's new book-length poem, "Once for the Last Bandit", which he describes as a word-smith's aide-memoire or an almanac of a penman in transit. The balance of the collection is comprised of the poet's choices from his earlier five books" (from the jacket notes.) Pp 206 including an Index of Titles and First Lines. Light sunning to jacket spine, and foxing to upper edge, else fine.

New Hampshire: Eagle Pond Farm, 1993. 1st edition, privately printed broadside. Specially signed by Hall in black ink below his printed name. Originally issued unsigned, this special broadside of two stanzas from Donald Hall's poem notes the following colophon: "Liam Rector & Tree Swenson announce to their families and friends their marriage, which took place at Eagle Pond Farm in New Hampshire in May of 1993." Handsomely designed and printed in three color ink on tan textured stock, with bottom edge deckled. Overall size: 11 inches high x 7.5 inches wide. Very scarce. (Kelleher G15.) Fine condition.

Deerfield / Dublin: Deerfield Press / Gallery Press, 1981. 1st edition, limited (1/300) signed, full black cloth, with printed dust jacket (as issued). Illustrated by Timophy Engelland. The text includes one long poem in four sections by this Dublin born poet, and two full page illustrations. Tiny unfortunate page tears to upper corner of three pages, else fine in fine jacket. Priced thus, as is.

Wesleyan, 1988. 1st edition cloth with dust jacket. Ignatow writes a foreward, and his compelling "Epilogue: As Long as Life Matters." This prose work (pp. 194) includes an index with references to many major poets. Fine in like dj.

Published as the Frost Holiday Greeting at Christmas 1953, with a poem by Frost and decorations by Philip Grushkin. (Crane B25.)
