Barcelona: Ediciones 29, 1973. Soft Cover/Library Boards. Very Good/None as Issued. EX-LIB. UNCIRCULATED Copy. No loan pocket. Text/BRAND NEW. Softcover encased in blue library boads. Meaning no disrespect to Ediciones 29, it could very well be that this book was written in toto by Francisco Candel, who then co-opted the name of a respected, but deceased Barcelona architect as his "nom de plume" to mask certain autobiographical elements of the work. Whether or not this is case, the Prólogo, consisting of narrative and verse, occupies 50 pages. The balance of the 221 pages is the work of the putative author.

Alexandria, VA: Time-Life Books, 1980. Reprint . Paperback. New/None as Issued. NEW COPY w/trace wear to softcover. Miliary memoir. Napoleon's invasion of Russia, know in Russia as the Patriotic War of 1812, was marked with easy summer victories, sacking of Moscow, and ending in devasting defeat in Russian winter. In this memoir, Philippe-Paul de Ségur, aide-de-camp to Napoleon, close to all goings-on at headquarters, was tied to Bonaparte in affection, respect and loyalty, but neverthless writes with remarkable critical detachment. Beyond a chronical, the book is a primary historical resource for other writers, fiction or otherwise; "at least four memorable incident from Tolstoy's War and Peace and straight out of Segur".
