Just before Chapter one of the text there is a fold-out map showing the route of the Santa Fe expedition. There are no tears or extraneous folds on the map. There is a tissue guarded captioned frontispiece entitle "Scamper Among the Buffalo". There are no tears on the tissue. The top edge of the pages are gilt. The outer edge of the pages are deckled. Opposite the title page is a fold out map of Leonard Country. At the outer edge of the fold out map there is a crease of about 1/4 of an inch at its widest point horizontially and it extends diagionally (vertically) up the page about half way until is disappears. The top of the pages are gilt and the outer and lower page edges are deckled. A bit of corner wear on the covers and some light wear at the head and tail of the spine.
