It is a love story and is quite complex with Kali making an appearance but it ends on a happy note. The Mahabharata itself was translated into English just one year prior though for all practical purposes this is the first portion of it to become available to the reading public in England. A very handsome and clean copy.This book is entirely composed of photographic illustrations of variously tinted Napa County scenes. The foremost being an Ed Ruscha-like photographic chronicle of every building on Main Street. In all, well over 100 photographic illustrations in the book and they are all well indexed at the rear.

On a trading expedition in 1850, he set sail in his father's junk, was caught in a storm, and drifted helplessly in the ocean. Eventually, an American ship picked up Heco and his shipmates and took them to San Francisco. Heco, after a year's stay, went on another voyage and returned to San Francisco in June 1853. Complete. Contemporary vellum, sympathetically rebacked, manuscript spine lettering. The title page and preface are lacking but the erudite yet penurious previous owner of this book typed them out very neatly and had them bound in at the beginning. The plates and text pages are very clean indeed (so clean that someone decided to save this copy).

An early aeronautic visionary, Matthew A. Batson imagined building the boat-like aircraft to easily carry cargo, crew, and passengers across the Atlantic Ocean to Liverpool, England. Passenger fare would be no small amount at $2,000 for the projected 36-hour flight.
