First edition with the 3rd volume dated 1863, with it's preface dated 1863, and mentioning first two volumes. The Birds volume dated 1862. Bound in morocco leather bindings. Intricately gilded spines. All edges cased in gilding. Marbled end papers. These are heavy books, printed on quality paper. Heavily illustrated with in text illustrations. These are large books at 10.25 inches tall. 6 inches of shelf space. In VERY GOOD condition. The leather is supple and very well preserved. The hinges are all strongly attached, although there is some starting along the extremities. An armorial bookplate. Evidence of a small removed sticker on rear cover.
