The excellent Moravian Symphony Orchestra of Olomouc, ably conducted by Jaromir Nohejl and Vit Micka, here offers two remarkable works by Czech composers: Martinu's Sixth Symphony, subtitled "Symphonic Fantasies", is in three movements: Lento, Poco Allegro, and Lento. Isa Krejci, virtually unknown outside his native land, is here represented by his neoclassic Fourteen Variations on the Folk Song "Nenia [Lament] for the Lost Spouse".
