The first single-volume edition of Harris' The Emigrant Family, first published in three volumes in 1849, with a new title: Martin Beck after its dominant character. A descriptive text of this work is on one of the photos provided. This is a very clean and good copy inscribed on title page with signature of first owner whose name also appears stamp-printed on spine base.
