DJ shows scuffing and soiling along with some edge and corner chips/tears, spine is also faded. Blue cloth boards underneath are clean and without issues. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. The only handwriting found in the book is at the top of the front end page where there is "xxx" written in red pen., No other handwriting noted, no bookplates, no library markings, no remainder marks etc.

New York: The Wandering Eye, 1932. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fair. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, light brown patterned paper covered boards with red cloth to spine. Exterior is quite darkened and edges/corners show quite a bit of bumping/chips. Interior binding is tight for the text pages but hinges are cracking at both front and rear boards. Note: this is an ex-library copy and is marked throughout the book stating it was from the Ohio County Public Library. In addition, the rear pastedown and end page is library card pockets and date card, both pastedowns and end pages is marked with black grease pencil. Book is in rough shape but is a good reading copy as text pages are tight. Paper is toned due to age and some minor spotting and foxing is present.

Hardcover, green cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. Boards are clean and corners are sharp. The reason for the low condition grade is because this is an ex-library copy, though there is only one small marking. The internal binding is good and pages are clean. No signatures or bookplates. On the title page, near the lower right corner, is embossed " Library of Mich. Univ.". The rear end page and pastedown are clean with only foxing and toning present. Exterior spine also has a mark about 2 inches from the bottom where it is likely a label once was. Pages are toned due to age and foxing is present, though mainly limited to the end pages. Interior binding is tight. See photos.

Hardcover, light blue cloth boards with dark blue text on front and spine. Exterior is quite faded and soiled along with edge and corner bumps. Spine is sunned as well. Interior pages are toned due to age and some foxing is present. End pages are quite tanned. No signatures or bookplates present, no hinge issues, nothing torn or loose. Good reading copy.

Only handwriting found is at the top of the front end page where there is a circled "2" written in red pen.

Stable bound softcover with white wraps and black text on front. Exterior shows bumping and creasing with dark stain on front. Edges and corners also show bumping and wear. Internal binding is good and all text pages are secure. Paper is toned due to age and the dark spot that's on the front wrap can also be seen for several pages in. Inscribed and signed on page 17, which is the poem under the same name as the book title: "To Mr. Jordan, 'Mad Nigger Woman' does not conform to 'establishment' rules, but to rules of reality so prevalent in Black life. Peola M. Holt".

New York: American Tract Society, 1885. First US Edition . Hardcover. Good-. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, red cloth boards decorated in black and gilt. Cloth is quite spotted soiled and has edge and corner bumps. Front board has two holes in the cloth with one being in the gutter of the hinge area. Internal binding of text pages is good though there is a thin crack at front board. Pages are tone due to age and some minor spotting and staining is present. No signatures or bookplates found, no handwriting. No publication date listed (1885). Foldout map is present in the front of the book and is in good shape.

Hardcover, salmon and pink cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. Exterior has very minor siding to spine and light corner bumps. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Pages feel like book was never read as the binding is that tight. No signatures or bookplates present, no library markings. Pages are mildly tone due to age but are clean. The only issue with the book is the slights on the on the exterior spine along with the top board edges.

Decorative paper boards with black cloth on spine. Spine is sunned. The page opposite title page states 'Of this book only two thousand copies have been issued for private collectors of erotica. ". No signatures or bookplates noted in book, no torn or loose pages, binding good. Some page toning noted, mainly to the end pages. Front end page has faint indentation where a previous seller's price was penciled and then erased at a later date. Book condition graded as VG minus.

Original owner's name penned on second front end page which also has a crease. Pages are toned, no torn or loose pages. Hinge crack noted at pages 98 and 162. Scattered foxing noted. Chip at bottom on front board. Book is graded as VG minus. See photos.

Exterior green cloth boards shows spotting, mainly on the back. The top of the front board appears to have been written on by a child in pen. If you look at the first image and zoom in you will be able to see this above the character of Madeleine. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. No signatures (other than the authors), no bookplates, no library markings, nothing torn or loose. Minor foxing is present and him there are a few light smudge marks and spots present, but for the most part pages are clean. There was a corner fold at page 41 which has been straightened out but the creases still present.

New York: The Ronald Press, 1956. 2nd Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, gray cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. This copy came from the House Beautiful Magazine editorial library and includes a letter handwritten on the magazine's letterhead. Exterior shows very light handling wear and minor edge/corner bumps. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. There is a stamp in the upper right corner of the front and page stating that he came from House Beautiful Library, though this is the only marking in the book and is not a typical public library marking as it came from the editorial offices. Pages are clean with the only issue was one page had a small corner fold.

Colors of the boards are bright and mostly clean with only a few minor spots. Edge and corners show light bumps/wear. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting, nothing torn, nothing loose. Pages are toned due to age and there are a couple scattered foxing spots present.

Previous owner's name on front pastedown. A nice VG copy with minor soiling and bumping. No hinge cracks, not ex-lib. 329 p., published without ads.

New York and London: Benjamin Blom, 1968. Hardcover. As New. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Hardcover, no dust jacket as issued. Original 1968 publication in as-new condition. This book was ordered direct from Hamilton books back in 1988 and packed away for future resale but it never made to our store shelves as it was packed away and forgotten about. Book has been placed in mylar bag for protection and is as crisp and clean as the day it was printed. See photos.
