Description:
George Routledge & Sons, Ltd., London, first edition thus. 1930 edition of work by the French writer Madame D'Aulnoy (Marie-Catherine Le Jumel de Barneville) originally published in 1691/92, and with an introduction and notes by the Spanish scholar R. Foulché-Delbosc. The boards are bumped at both ends of spine but otherwise in very good condition. There is exceedingly light browning to the righthand edge of the text block. Internally, the book is clean and fresh and tightly bound. The jacket has a minor tear at top edge of front cover (and another at top left hand corner) and has rubbing and slight chipping to both ends of spine. The jacket is now protected in a 'Plasti-Kleer' cover.

Description:
Facsimile of the second edition of the Memoirs of the Life of Sir Samuel Romilly, written by Himself, with a selection from his correspondence edited by his sons (1840). Published as part of Irish University Press's The Development of Industrial Society series. Sir Samuel Romilly (1757-1818) was a prominent lawyer, politician and legal reformer. Three volume set, in VG condition. Minor bumping to the spine edges top and bottom; spotting and some light staining to the top edge of the text blocks. Internally, the pages of each volume are bright and fresh.
This is a heavy set, weighing over 2kg. For standard and expedited postage within the UK, the three volumes will be sent as separate packages at no extra charge. Description:
George Routledge & Sons, Ltd., London; first edition, 1930. Memoires first published in Paris in 1818; the author was a friend, and subsequent enemy, of Jean-Jacques Rousseau. This translation was published in 1930 as part of Routledge's Broadway Library of Eighteenth-Century French Literature series. The boards are sunned at the spine and there is slight bumping to both edges of the spine, and to the four internal corners. There is extremely light spotting to the top edge of the text block. Internally, the grey endpapers are slightly discoloured, but the pages are clean and bright and tightly bound with no markings or inscriptions. There is no dustjacket.
