Manchester, Cornish, 1906 to 1908, The complete set of five volumes in the original edition. Publisher's green cloth. Volume 4 with a strip of fading to edge to front cover, the odd small mark here and there but a very good, clean, sound set.

Longans, Green & Co., 1919, pp.xii, 563, illustrated. Original cloth. The spine is just a little rubbed top and bottom and the lettering is a bit dull, but a very sound copy. Neat name inside.

1866, pp. viii, 179 plus adverts. original cloth, spine a trifle faded, but very good condition. Especially important for its account of the theatrical history of Manchester. Uncommon.

London, Sampson, Low, 1886, first English edition, pp. ix, 784, frontis., folding map, numerous illustrations. Original cloth, just a little rubbed, front inner hinge weak, occasional light fingering, but a good, sound copy. Owner's small name stamp on first blank and title page.

Manchester, Chetham Society, 1892 to1906, four volumes, small 4to, 838 pages, illustrated. Some fading to spines, light stain to top cover of volume 4, occasional foxing, marks on front endpapers of two volumes where a bookplate has been removed, but this is still a very good, tight set. Chetham Society, New Series, Vols 26,31,58 and 59. It is uncommon to find all four volumes together.

Manchester University Press, 1929, small 4to,pp. xxiv, 212, xi. Spine a little faded, else very good in original cloth.

London, Printed for the Author, 1788, second edition, revised, with considerable additions, 8vo, pp. xv, (5), 98. Neat modern half calf with marbled boards, very short tear in fore-margin of title, and repair to lower corner, also 3 or 4 tiny ink spots, else a clean, sound copy. A printing error on page v of the Preface has made half of three lines very faint, but only one is more or less illegible.

London, William Macintosh, [1859], pp. xvi,216, three diagrams including one folding. Original cloth, rather faded, gilt title on spine just legible, but very sound condition. Very scarce.

Longman, London, 1889, volume two only, pp. vii, 543, 50, 88, frontis of Dr Morrison's Tomb at Macau. Contemporary half leather with cloth boards. Binding rubbed and rather worn, but still tight and sound. Stamps on title of the Bequest of Robert Urswick, else contents good and clean.

Cambridge, 1868 and 1870, printed for private circulation only, Two volumes, pp. xxiii, 122, [4], 68., errata slip. Ex-libraty copies strongly rebound in cloth, dewey numbers to spine, but no library stamps inside. Volume 1 has a presentation inscription to John Jackson and the Supplement has a bookplate indicating that they are from the library of John Jackson and presented to Warrington Museum Library. Sedgwick's dates of birth and death in pencil on Supplement title page. Good, clean copies.
