Kerins was a US marine who writes of his, and others, experiences in the Pacific War, 1942-1945. He was present at the battles for Guadalcanal, Bougainville, Guam and Iwo Jima. Signed by the author on the title page

A very good clean copy, with only slight age browning of the preliminary pages. In the original price clipped dust jacket, which is a little soiled and edge frayed. Robert W Chambers, 1865-1933, was a popular and prolific American novelist, active in the last quarter of the 19th century and in the first third of the 20th century. He is better known today for his pioneering supernatural and weird collection of short stories The King in Yellow, published in 1895. Very scarce in dust jacket.

Four delightful colour plates, drawings and verse on every page. 16 pages. Covers weakening at top and tail of spine, some very slight internal soiling, but still very clean and good. Humorous romantic poem based on the pursuit of a suitable match by a young lady among the gentlemen of the Pinkborough Hunt. Humorous verse and illustrations and some fine coloured hunting scenes. A late 19th century picture book for adults with a humorous moral.

Full calf with decoration in gilt. Maroon title label. Marbled endpapers. Calf slightly rubbed, in good sturdy condition, with minor blemish to bottom corner of bottom board. Only minor occasional signs of use internally. With the name 'Bouilly" written in ink on half title. Bouilly, 1763-1842, was a playwright and a politician of the French Revoluton, as well as a children's author. In 1799 he was appointed to the Committee of Public Instruction. In 1799 he retired from public life to write.

Only very slight rubbing to edges and corners. From the Library of Gilbert a'Beckett, dated and signed at Christ Church, Oxford. Ownership inscription of Gilbert Arthur a'Beckett. He was an English writer who contributed to Punch and wrote plays. Born in 1837 he attended Christ Church, Oxford between 1855 and 1860. He died in 1891. He was the son of humourist Gilbert Abbott a'Beckett, 1811 - 1856, who also wrote for Punch and was the author of 'A Comic History of England'.
