Large book fully bound in leather with 4 raised bands on spine and housed in a decorative thick slipcase. All pages are bright, clean and unmarked. Binding and hinges secure. Very light scuffing spine and one edge of the slipcase is starting to crack. Overall, a handsome copy.

Hinge is cracked at front endpaper. Previous owner's name appears in blue pen on front pastedown.

Binding is starting to loosen in a couple places near front of book. Front board is bowed at top and bottom. Discoloration along edges, especially spine ends. Spine ends have softened. Jacket has several large chips on front and a hole along front of spine. Chipping at top and bottom of spine and corners. Spine is sunned and there is one long scratch on front. Cracking along fore-edges and rubbing and creasing around all edges.

Pages have browned and top stain is faded. Binding is firm. Bottom corners of boards are bumped, as is bottom of spine. Light fraying at spine ends, top front edge and bottom corners. Jacket is heavily chipped at spine ends, lighter chipping at corners. One large rip at front bottom corner and one hole along spine. All edges are rubbed and creased and jacket is browned.

Previous owner's markings in light pencil appear on upper opening corner of front flyleaf. Top text block edge is soiled. Boards are soiled, scuffed and edgeworn, with bumped, worn corners and softened spine ends. Back board has sticker damage and residue. Binding is starting throughout and cracked at p68 and p212.

Pages are clean and unmarked. Mild rubbing to edges of boards, otherwise they're straight and clean. Purple marker streak, possibly a remainder mark, on bottom exterior edge of text block.

Jacket is heavily browned on inside. One dried stain with a little surface damage on front of jacket. Moderate to heavy rubbing around all edges, with some chipping on spine ends and a couple corners.

Jacket is in archival sleeve but still has a few instances of discoloration on front and back covers. Small note written on top of back cover, which is tanned. Chipping to ends of spine and general wear around all edges of jacket.
