Konstantin Mikhailovich Miklashevsky (1885-1943) was a Russian aristocrat, a brilliant polymath, a talented actor, director, and theater historian. At the beginning of the last century, he traveled all over Europe, looking for materials about commedia dell'arte in archives and museums. In fact, it was he who first described in detail, discovered this unique theatrical phenomenon to the world in his book "La Commedia Dell'arte or the Theater of Italian Comedians of the XVI-XVII Centuries." The first part of it was published in Russia in 1914, and the full version was published in Paris in 1927 in French. Excellent preservation, in a colorful cover. Numerous illustrations.
