The print measures about 8" x 6", and the entire frame measures about 16" x 14". The print appears to be in very good or better condition, possibly laid to a backing board, but with no plainly visible flaws apart from a few thin creases to the bottom edge. [no place given, likely Ohio], 1900. Good. One photograph, measuring about 6.5" x 4.25", tipped onto a mount with a 2-inch border. Mound has notable water damage, which has affected two corners of the image, thus overall good only. The image depicts several workers in some kind of factory, probably a kind of printing house, with several machines rigged to a complex belt/pulley system. Though no place is indicated, this item emerged from a collection of mostly Ohio photography.

[no place given]: [photographer not identified], 1910. Very good-. Rather large photograph, measuring about 8.5" x 6.75", tipped onto a mount with a .5" border. Housed in a contemporary black wooden frame, showing minimal nicks and smudges, commensurate with age. Some dampstaining to the borders of the mount, only gently affecting the bottom left corner of the image (really just the thin white border). Image gently dust-soiled, but clean and with no notable tears. Has not been examined out of frame. The image is a bit mysterious; there are six men in white uniforms and slightly different white hats. One man has a chef's hat and wears an apron, which seems clear enough but we are unsure of what sort of work the other men are engaged in. Cleveland: Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Co. and United Steelworkers of America, 1968. First Edition. Staplebound. Very good. 16mo, 84pp. A very good copy in the publiser's blue stapled wraps. Sunned on the spine, and a tinge rippled, but a clean copy. Scarce pamphlet containing the language of the contract between the Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Co. and the steelworker's union. We found no copies of this volume in commerce, nor separately listed in worldwide libraries, including at the company's archive at BGSU and its material held at Northern Michigan University.

A near fine copy in the publisher's stapled wraps. A few faint creases, else a very nice, crisp, bright example. A scarce, early local union pamphlet, as we found no copies in OCLC. The local was based in Chicago, so it's likely that this pamphlet was published there.

Albany, NY: Whiting, Leavenworth and Whiting, 1802. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good. Octavo, 796pp. Some foxing, overall a very good copy in full calf with leather label. Front outer hinge just slightly loosened, but holding strong. An important collection of congressional debates, which centered on the structure, function, and role of the U.S. Supreme Court. Many of the matters under discussion came into stark relief in wake of the the landmark Marbury v. Madison case the following year, which established the independence of the judiciary, allowing judges to nullify laws passed by Congress that they deemed unconstitutional. American Imprints 3272. New York: T & J Swords, 1808. First Edition. Octavo, 2 volumes. Both volumes bound in modern black buckram cloth, with new endpapers. Very sturdy and sound. Some internal foxing/age-toning, but a clean, handsome set. A few ink markings to title pages; overall very good. A very important periodical, published by Samuel Mitchill, a friend of President Thomas Jefferson. Mitchill's "Medical Repository" was probably the first widely known medical Journal in post-Revolutionary America, and it contains some important early medical texts, but these two volumes are sought for their early, real-time reporting on Lewis and Clark's journey up the Missouri River, and reports from Zebulon Pike in his western and southern excursions. Mitchill, being a friend of Jefferson's, was able to obtain reports from the White House regarding correspondence from Lewis and Clark on their findings in the as-yet unexplored far western portions of the Louisiana Purchase. Several separate gatherings of content, totaling over 75pp. In excellent condition, near fine, with normal newspaper folds. Comprehensive guide to Pride festivities in Cleveland in 1994. There are hundreds of personal ads, and many dozens of local advertisements for Cleveland and other Ohio businesses, specifically catering to LGBTQ clients (including two full-page ads for Miller Lite celebrating Pride). Many of these advertisments are for lawyers and other resources for queer people whose situations were not often addressed by the legal system. Numerous articles discuss verious events, speakers, and conferences to be held during Pride, along with issues then facing the community. OCLC holdings are difficult to parse; it seems that physical holdings are scarce, with just Northern Illinois U. and Ohio State retaining any significant runs (we are unsure if either has this special and enlarged 1994 Pride issue). Very good in the original 3/4 black calf over marbled boards, with four simple gilt rules on the spine. A wonderful example of a 19th century librarian's tool. The printed introduction to this blank ledger book begins as follows: "In the plan of this book it is arranged that the Librarian may keep the accounts with the scholars, but deliver the books to the Teachers by means of the "Library Cards," and the Teachers deliver them to the scholars." There are two sample designs for these "library cards" printed in the volume, though the cards themselves, designed to be used with this register, were issued separately, and are not included herein. Santee Agency, Neb: A. L. Riggs, 1893. First Edition. Sewn binding. Fine. 16mo, 17pp., 10pp. About fine in the publisher's string-tied printed cardstock wraps. Trivial dog-ears to three leaves, and very faint toning to the edges of the wraps, else a lovely example. The copyright page notes: "Printed by Indian Pupils of Santee Normal Training School, Santee Agency, Neb." An exceedingly scarce volume. According to a profile of Garvie at the Logan Museum of Anthropology, he was raised on the Sisseton Reservation in South Dakota. A gifted student, he joined the faculty of the Santee Normal Training School under Alfred Riggs as the printing instructor. In a biography of Henry Roe Cloud, a graduate of the Santee school and the first Native American graduate of Yale, the writer notes that Henry worked in the print shop, and that: "Riggs thought that the story of Lincoln's struggles to educate himself would be a great object lesson for the students" (p. 22). 1951. Near fine. Three-page typescript; each leaf measuring 8.5" x 11". Old staple rust at the top of the first and last leaves, else in about fine condition. With several holograph corrections, almost certainly by Munson. An informative, reflective, and somewhat self-critical history of the short-lived literary magazine "Secession," which, though it only produced eight issues, helped midwife the early careers of such writers as William Carlos Williams, Hart Crane, Waldo Frank, Wallace Stevens, and Marianne Moore; the list goes on, and it's a veritable "Murderer's Row" of pre-war modernists. Munson begins, "The general idea of "Secession" was dissent from the ways of literary life of the generation typified in fiction by Dreiser and Anderson, in poetry by Sandburg and Lindsay, and in criticism by Mencken and Brooks."
