Directed by Hanson, with Kim Basinger, who also won an Academy Award for her role, and Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, Danny DeVito, et al. The film was nominated for an additional seven Academy Awards. The definitive treatment of Ellroy's dark vision of Los Angeles.

Denoted a "Production Draft" of this original teleplay, marked by extensive dated revisions on colored stocks. In this draft, the teleplay is co-credited to Ellroy and Nathan, based on a story by Ellroy. The teleplay for the July 2003 release is credited solely to Ellroy on IMDB, and David Anspaugh directed (Michael Fields is noted as the director at this stage of production). The cast included Miguel Ferrer, Richard Bradford, Kevin Dunn, et al.

First English language edition. Illustrated with thirty-four original lithographs and two vignettes by Max Ernst. One of 199 numbered copies (of 217) on Arches, with the text in English, signed by the author and the artist. The lithographs for all the editions were printed at Atelier Chave in 1972, contemporary with the preparation and publication of the edition of the French text (a total of 315 copies). A German language edition (also consisting of 199 copies plus 18 h.c.) was published. The English translation, prepared in 1972 by Nicolette Bernard, Peter Leslie and George Kimball, was not actually printed until 1989 (also at Atelier Chave). An irreverent and pointed attack on authoritarianism and militarism, the text written decades earlier, presented as a late collaboration of two old friends. MONOD 9695.

A movie tie-in associated with the Spanish release of the film based on Hobson's 1947 novel, GENTLEMAN'S AGREEMENT. The multi-award winning film was directed by Elia Kazan, based on a screenplay by Moss Hart, and starred Gregory Peck, Dorothy McGuire, John Garfield, and others. The film premiered in the US in November of 1947, and opened in Barcelona in January of 1949. There is included a section of 16 stills from the film. and the double column text is a possibly adapted from the film rat here than a literal translation of the novel. Scarce. OCLC locates a single copy, at the Biblioteca Nacional de Espana. OCLC: 431932604.

First edition, trade issue (100 copies were issued with an original graphic). Twenty- eight short texts in Italian and English (translations by Franco Martinelli), edited by Mario Diacono, with an epilogue by the publisher. One copy is inscribed by the artist in New York in 1986; the second copy bears a neat calligraphic presentation from the publisher to the same recipient dated Feb. 1986, preceded by a two page quick pencil drawing of two leaning buildings against a background of clouds by the artist, signed and dated by him. Laid in are two printed invitations to different publication events, one signed by the publisher ('Peter').
