From the enlarged Italian edition of Il Gazzettiere Americano; an encyclopedia of the Americas; with an eye towards appealing to contemporary commerce and trade which included 57 engraved plates of America's native mammals and birds, as well as scenes of building and manufacture, commerce (of indigo, tobacco, sugar), birds eye views of towns and city plans of the Americas and Colonies. Due to the soft and ephemeral nature of the landscape -void of accentuated highlights or inked outlines characteristic of Bull's work- it appears the composition is most likely by Walter King Stone- with the addition of the birds contributed by CL Bull.
