L.A. Weekly, 1979. Newspaper. Very Good +. A clean, well-preserved copy of the December 7th, 1979 issue of L.A. Weekly, featuring a (now famous) cover photo of a defiant Charles Bukowski clutching his portable Underwood typewriter. Inside is an interesting, Hunter Thompson-esque profile of Bukowski ("Sing a Song of Charles Bukowski: Reflections on a Dirty Old Man Who Happens to Be a Splendid Poet") by Linda Rudolph. The newspaper is unfolded and crisp and VG+, with light creasing along the rear panel's lower-edge. An early, impassioned defense of LA as a viable literary scene (in spite of its constant snubbing from academia) and as Charles Bukowski as its champion.

The 1930 1st edition of this, the maiden title in the Bauhaus-influenced "Fototek" series (which would only produce one more title). THIS COPY INCLUDES ITS UNCOMMON ORIGINAL GLASSINE DUSTJACKET. Solid and VG+ in its Jan Tschichold-designed wrappers, with light wear at the foot of the spine, small, neat name to the title page's top-edge and a degree of light soiling along the rear panel. And in a clean, VG- to VG example of the fragile glassine dustjacket, with very light chipping along the edges and the base of the spine, and a 3" x 3" square of loss to the rear panel's lower-edge. Octavo. 60 crisp black-and-white examples of Moholy-Nagy's work (including a good amount in collage) and the first monograph devoted exclusively to his photography.

Paris/Nancy: Berger-Levrault & Cie, Editeurs, 1908. The 1908 1st edition of this uncommon, very early study of the Wright Brothers and their plane, published in Paris and Nancy. Includes an elaborate fold-out, "une planche de dessins originaux" at the rear. Re-bound in a a tasteful, handsome navy-blue cloth, with leather title label affixed to the front panel. Solid and VG+, with very light foxing and offsetting at the pastedowns and newer endsheets. One very small tear as well at the title page and very light, forgivable browning to the original pages. Thin octavo, "Avertissement des Editeurs" followed by 30 pgs. of text and the map.

Paris: Editions Albert Morance, 1926. 1st. 1926 1st edition. A quarto suite of 48 black-and-white plates, accompanied by a wrappered introduction and list of plates. All of this housed in a lovely, decorative chemise, with its original ribbon ties. Clean and VG+ to Near Fine, with the plates in immaculate condition.

Title-page woodcut on each volume by the estimable Rudolph Ruzicka. 12mo, unpaginated. Clean and tight and VG+. Handsome, VG+ example of the publisher's slipcase in patterned boards.

Also includes lovely wrappered book of text--and accompanying illustrations-- of "L'Ange de Feu". Book is clean and VG+ in its pictorial wrappers. The 3 LPs are clean and Fine-- as are the records and the book. The entire folio is housed in a handsome, VG+ pictorial cloth chemise.

Presumed publisher's glassine dustjacket, which is crisp and clean, accompanying this copy as well. Thin octavo, wonderful full-page photo ("Nei Laboratorio degli Intonarumori a Milano" -- "In the Laboratory of Intonarumori in Milan") complementing Russolo's text, which is viewed as a pioneering work in Futurist music and noise theory.
