1950 Circa 1950's. Hand drawn and colored, original cartoon art reading "LET'S PEEK OVER THEIR SHOULDERS AND SEE IF SHE'S GOT ANYTHING ON !!", measuring approx. 19" x 15", with rounded corners. Back side show remnants of black paper, where the cartoon had once been mounted. Perhaps created for the use of risque postcards.

Dust jackets are in poor condition, with large pieces missing, protected in mylar covers. INSCRIPTION BY AUTHOR on ffep, reads "Signed, with much pleasure, for Ralph Knight. 7 June, 1959, De Lancey Ferguson." Front hinges starting, back hinges tight. BINDING IS STRONG AND TIGHT. Volume 1, 1780-9; Volume 2, 1790-6. These volumes represent the first systematic attempt to re-edit the letters from the original manuscripts. More than 50 letters are here collected for the first time, and nearly 100 other are not accessible in any one standard edition of the Complete Works. INTERIOR IS CLEAN AND BRIGHT. Includes numerous facsimiles of the original letters.
