With the discreet contemporary ownership stamps of Edmund Tweedale of Marland, Rochdale ("High Birch") on preliminaries and pp. 79 and 123. (Tweedale an award-winning horseman in his own right.) Illustrated throughout with black and white drawings, including medical cross-sections. Saddle-stapled wraps with the cover printed in full color. Light wear to edges. Published, presumably, with an American Italian-immigrant readership in mind, the tract assesses the dental health of kids in a manner that is half-guide, half-cautionary tale. In the final illustration, the young boy is seen striding happily with a wide grin while holding a baseball bat and ball, healthy dentia and assimilation into American culture achieved.

Boba was a noted figure in the field of Eastern European history, gaining renown for his theory ("the Boba Thesis") that the 9th C. prinicipality of Moravia was located in Serbia near the Roman provincial capital of Sirmium (present-day Sremska-Mitrovica), not the Czech Republic. Boba spent his career at the Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington. .

A faint dampstain affects the upper gutter of a section of leaves, and corners are a tad worn, else Fine. An eight-page brochure titled Directions for Emergency Confinement in the Home is housed in a rear pocket. Despite the euphemistic title, the brochure is a guide to giving birth at home. A luxe book production, designed to comfort and aid expectant and new mothers. A handsome, presentable copy. .

By Dr. Chase's Book Bindery Ann Arbor (tag.) A few leaves excised between endpapers and title page. Hinges starting, corners bumped, edges and spine chafed. Produced by members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Engravings listed in the index are not present, perhaps on wraps discarded in binding.

The photographer won the 2005 Henri Cartier-Bresson Grand Prize. A particularly fresh copy, with no detracting qualities whatsoever. Dust jacket is now preserved in a clear, removable archival protector.

Bound in aqua cloth with elaborate wave motif stamped on front board and spine in orange. In the illustrated dust jacket, slight soiling to front panel and rear flap detached but present. The price of $3.00 is intact on the front flap. Not expressly designed by Dwiggins but, as stated on the front flap, "typography, binding and jacket based on designs by W. A. Dwiggins." That curious statement is likely explained by Dwiggins' death in December 1956, just prior to publication. That is, he created the design but was not alive to see them through the publishing process.

First published by Knopf the same year, this uses that publisher's Detective Book Club jacket with the title page showing the Walter Black imprint. A Kent Murdock mystery involving a Hollywood starlet and a king's ransom in smuggled jewels. The uncredited dust jacket, a triumph of noir intrigue, is now housed in a removable, clear archival sleeve.

Provides an informative portrait of American life in 1866, especially by way of ads, for a perfumery, stereoscopes, silversmiths, washing and wringing machines, etc. One, for Goodyear's Rubber Store, proffers products ("infants dress protectors") utilizing Charles Goodyear's profound invention, vulcanized rubber.
