Boards have light sunning, scuffing, bumping and rubbing to edges, corners and ends of spine. Binding is tight, spine is slightly cocked. Dust jacket has two small spots of discoloration to front cover with light wear to extremities; scuffing to rear cover.

US: Modern Age Books, 1937. Hardback. Good. Signed and inscribed by the author at first free endpaper. Three letters included of correspondence between the author and a R. J. Griffin. Navy cloth over boards with gilt-debossed title and publisher's emblem to spine, and gilt-debossed title and photograph plate to front board. Letters are intact with tanning and light foxing, but all writing remains legible. First few pages are foxed with light scattered foxing to margins throughout, postage stamp stuck to top edge of page 75 blocking a portion of the first paragraph, and endpages foxed. Text block is foxed and soiled; top edge might have once been sprayed black but is heavily faded; black pen marking to lower edge. Boards have moderate to heavy rubbing to corners, edges, along spine and at ends of spine. Creasing to photograph plate. Binding is sound, front inner hinge cracked, but still holds.
