An advertisement circular for Aunt Betsy's Green Ointment, which purported to cure 'itching piles' but might also be used to 'remove pimples' and 'cure chapped hands' not to mention its ability to bring about 'swift sleep.' The text tells the story of how a young Aunt Betsy met KE-NE-O-TAH the Indian who taught her the formula to create the Green Ointment known by all Indians for its restorative properties (the tale becoming even more ludicrous from there). A wonderful example of the snake oil marketing of the time, beautifully preserved within a book of the period. NEAR FINE.
