Description:
London, United Kingdom: Frederick Muller Ltd, 1976. A very presentable copy which has been signed in thick brown felt tip pen by Ken Russell in large flamboyant letters to the front free endpaper. There is a small previous owners name written in small neat letters in blue pen ink again to the corner of the free endpaper. A very clean copy inside and out. The dustwrapper shows a particularly extrovert colour photograph of the controversial director to the front panel. The spine is typically sunned otherwise a nice example of the dustwrapper which shows only light signs of handling. Protected in a removable archival bookseeve to preserve its condition. An excellent biography of the enfant terrible of British cinema who worked closely with the likes of Oliver Reed and Alan Bates. Becoming alot more appreciated now after an extraordinary body of work. Renowned for his painstaking attention to detail. The devil is in the detail ! A saying which could have been invented for this eccentric yet talented… Read More

London, United Kingdom: Hodder and Stoughton, 1935. Bound in the publishers cream cloth with blue and red boarder lines and titles to front board and spine. This copy has been signed and dated by John Buchan in blue ink to the front free endpaper. This is the sixth impression published in May 1935 just one month after the first impression of April 1935. Famous frontispiece of a colour photograph of the king broadcasting at Sandringham which is reproduced courtesy of The Times newspaper. Light overall signs of handling otherwise a very decent copy. Housed in the rather worn dustwrapper which has loss to the head of spine and corners. The above mentioned photograph of the King's broadcast is repeated to the front panel of the dustwrapper. Publishers printed price remains intact on front inside flap. Protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. Scarce to encounter copies which have been signed by the versatile author, John Buchan. An interesting and indepth look at the… Read More
