McCormick). Laden with photos of students, faculty and activities. With signatures and inscriptions from many students, as usual. Bound in textured wraps with yapped edges, "KUAY" (pronounce Q-A, for "Queen Anne") embossed on front cover. Light edge-wear; scuff inside front cover where a decal was removed. Contains an entry for graduating senior Helmi Juvonen, listed as "entered from Butte High School, 1918" and a member of the Honor Society. As usual with yearbooks of the era, each senior is allowed a descriptive quote. Juvonen's: "She'll be famous for her art." An early print appearance of the talented painter whose troubled psychiatric history is well documented.

Tenth edition, so stated on the dust jacket, which features a super cool design by Arthur Hawkins, Jr. Wells was a cross between Lowell Thomas and Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom host Marlin Perkins, travelling the globe with his wife to exotic locations and presenting, via book, film and early television, customs and folklore of foreign cultures peculiar to Americans. Sufi wisdom presented to the Westerner in a pseudo-translation from the Persian by English explorer, orientalist scholar and translator Burton. First published in 1880. Printed by John Henry Nash. Burton's distillation of Sufi thought, presented as a response to the Rubaiyat of Omar Kayyam, is a slight literary hoax inasmuch as Burton didn't translate the work at all, but wrote it from whole cloth. With a worthy introduction by Aurelia Henry Reinhardt.

Walt Crowley is perhaps best known as a co-founder of HistoryLink, the online encyclopedia of Pacific Northwest history, and the first US website devoted to regional history. Crowley also wrote an extensive list of books documenting Seattle history. In that capacity, Crowley's positions as a city planner, local television commentator, speechwriter and civic activism served him well. The signed recipes, poems and notes appear to have been lettered by several different hands. A guide to the good life in post-WWII Florida, offered here in a solid, presentable copy.
