Pp. 2800; numerous black-and-white photo-plates, halftones and text-figures (line-drawings). Early tan cloth, lettered in black on the spine, thick lg 8vo. This work contains some 65 papers on Japanese fishes by David Starr Jordan all from the Proceedings of the U. S. National Museum beginning with volume 14 (1891) and ending with volume 46 (1914). This is a unique set of Japanese fish papers by David Starr Jordan that have been assembled and custom-bound in two thick volumes. At the beginning of each volume is a bound-in handwritten list in pencil of the papers in each volume. There is a white call number on the spine but no other library or ownership marks internally or externally.

This provides a biography of the life and work of Jonas Gustaf Emil Wahlstrom, the animal expert and director of the Skansen Aquarium founded by him in 1978. Contains fantastic color photos of numerous rare mammal and reptile species. The text is in Swedish. Inscribed by "Helene" on the half title.

The Abbe de Choisy visited King Narai of Siam (Thailand) in 1685-1686. Choisy's account of the embassy, in the form of a daily journal addressed to a friend, is an acknowledged classic of French travel writing (from the jacket flap).
