Book. Good. No Binding. In 2013-14 S-----o V----z was a young Spanish speaking male incarcerated in the California penal system. From the 40+ documents & letters, it appears that S----o had used his jail time to overcome some of the issues that led to his arrest. Together with broad family and institutional support it also appears that he stayed the course for a more purposeful life. Included are letters to S----o during his jail time in 2013-14, and letters dating 2018 to S-----o from a friend then in prison for a variety of crimes. Correspondences are mostly in English interspersed with 'Spanglish', with several letters completely in Spanish..

Handwritten. Good. Soft cover. Circa 1840-50, approx. 50 handwritten pages with ink drawings. Ikebana (???, "living flowers") is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. The tradition of Ikebana dates to the 7th century when floral offerings were made at altars. Later, floral offerings were also placed in private homes in a special alcove (tokonoma) meant to display the offering, Ikebana reached its first zenith in the 16th century under the influence of Buddhist tea-masters and has grown over the centuries, with over 1,000 different schools in Japan and abroad. Ikebana is one of three classical Japanese arts of refinement along with - kodo,  incense appreciation, and chado, tea and the tea ceremony. The book exhibits  channels from a long past infestation, however it is quite nice, and reads well. .
