SIGNED, without inscription, by John Mason on the title page. The wraps are bent in on the edges and there is a crease on the rear cover. 12 illustrations by Rigby Graham.

Macmillan, 1905. First Edition. Softcover. Good. 16mo up to 6 1/2" tall. This is a 15 page pamphlet and appears to have been published to promote his early works. It advertises a "Portrait", but none exists (it may have been inside the front cover because of a remnant strip of glue there. The covers have soft peeled areas around the spine (3/4" strip in front and about a 1/2" strip in the rear), chips on the lower corners, two short (1/4") closed tears on the base of the front cover, and pages 14-15 were roughly opened at the base of the fore-edge. An interesting item.

Holt, Rinehart, and Winston, 1984-01-01. First Edition. Softcover. Very Good. Signed. First printing. SIGNED, without inscription, by Louise Erdrich on the title page. The covers are edge rubbed and have occasional spotting. The half title page has a small stain on the bottom edge and an erasure near the top. All in all, still very good.

Longmans, Green and Company, 1/1/1936. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/NO JACKET. Signed. Generically inscribed and SIGNED by Marion Gilbert on the front endpaper. The boards are edge rubbed, corners bumped (boards exposed at the top front corner), and there is a 5/8" tear to the cloth at the top front joint. The interior, except for author's inscription, is clean and the binding is still reasonably tight.

Greenwood, 1996-08-28. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine. First printing. The volume is lightly bumped and skewed on the spine ends, else fine.

Alfred A. Knopf, 1952. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Second Edition, Revised, published May, 1952. The volume is bumped on the top corners, has a small stain area on the rear panel near the joint, and the spine is mildly sunned. The interior is in excellent condition, although some of the index leaves are uncut.

The Bobbs-Merrill Company, Inc, 1950. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Stated First Edition. The volume has a lightly toned spine, edge wear with bumped spine ends, and the crown is frayed. The front hinge is cracked and abraded, the text leaves are lighlty toned, and there is one leaf with a corner crease.

Grosset and Dunlap, 1915. Hardcover. Good. Color frontis by Norman Rockwell. The volume has a lightly sunned spine, a bumped top corner and spine ends. The pages have light age toning, a 1918 Christmas inscription on the front enpaper, some occasional page spotting and leaf 181-182 is chipped on the bottom corner (not affecting text).

Penn Publishing, 1929-01-01. Hardcover. Very Good -/Very Good -. Second edition (the first was privately printed). The volume is edge rubbed and has two short slits on the spine crown (longest is 3/16"). The rubbed, unclipped, dust jacket, is chipped at the spine ends and corners (longest is 1/4" on the spine crown), has four closed tears (1/2" & less), and a corner crease on the bottom front as well as a small hole on the rear panel.

St. Martin's Press, 1988-08-01. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. The volume is bumped on the top front corner and the spine ends. The unpriced dust jacket, protected in a sleeve, has a sunned spine and wrapped off-center to the spine.

W. W. Norton & Company, 1981-03-17. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good -. Signed. Fifth printing. Generically inscribed "Eat well & live well", and SIGNED by Jane Brody on the front endpaper. The volume is bumped on the spine ends, unevenly toned on the front endpaper, and has minute stains on the base of the rear pastedown and endpaper. The dust jacket is clipped on the base of the front flap (price of $17.95 is intact on the top of the front flap), chipped on the spine ends, worn along the edges and has a 1" tear on the top of the front fold. A previous owner has graciously reminded everyone of that fact by embossing the front & rear endpapers and front & rear panels of the jacket with their personal circular library stamp.

The unclipped dust jacket, sleeved in mylar, is lightly edge rubbed, nicked at the spine ends and corners, has some soiling, and a lightly sunned spine.

The volume has edge and joint abrasions, a chip and tear on the crown, and some edge soiling. The front hinge is starting and the leaves are gently toned. Armorial bookplate of Walter Thomas Wallace and bookplate of Ormond G Smith (co-founder of Street and Smith?) are affixed to the front pastedown.

The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a Brodart sleeve, is edge worn with corner and spine chips, and there are a few closed tears,some wrinkling and edge creasing.

The unclipped dust jacket, sleeved in mylar, is soiled, sunned on the spine, edge rubbed with shallow ships st the spine ends and corners, and is creased on the spine with an abrasion which lightly affects the "e" and "d" in the authors first name. Additionally, the jacket was initially wrapped off center and, therefore, the spine lettering is not square.
