Webb is pictured in two of the plates and the inscription is worth quoting : "Dear Alan, For doing this play and for your superb performance - my deepest thanks. You have no idea how exciting it is for a playwright to see a character so brilliantly realised. Watching you play "the old bastard" was one of the most satisfying experiences of my theatrical life, Affectionately, Bob".
