Blue Dolphin Enterprises. FANCHER, Hampton; David PEOPLES The Illustrated Blade Runner San Diego: Blue Dolphin Enterprises, Inc., 1982 Large 4to., card covers lettered in black and decorated with storyboards from the screenplay; pp. [i], 2-96; pages a little toned, a couple of small marks to covers and rubbing to edges; near-fine. First edition of this Blade Runner sketchbook, containing the drawings of storyboards used in the 1982 production. With full number line 1-9 denoting first impression. Adapted from Philip K. Dick's famous novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, production by Ridley Scott began in 1977, with Hampton Fancher as screenwriter. With the script focusing more on environmental concerns than the humanity and religion found in the novel, director Ridley Scott was keen to make changes, obtaining the rights to the name 'Blade Runner'. Fancher subsequently left the job over this issue, handing over to David Peoples, although he later…

Description:
London: Hamish Hamilton. FIRST UK EDITION. The wrapper is in excellent condition with no toning or marks. It has not been price clipped. The book has very light toning to the text block. Also a light indentation mark to the side text block. A small penned mark to the lower text block. Overall a near fine copy with this one being particularly rare due to the author's inscription on the front free end paper. A very sharp copy of Capote's classic crime title. The non-fiction novel is about the brutal slaying of the clutter family by two would-be robbers. It would be remembered as a trail-blazing experiment that has influenced many writers since. The book was successfully adapted into a film of the same name in 1967 and again in 2005 as the biographical portrait Capote. There hasn't been any record of the UK edition being signed by the author at auction over the past 30 years. Making this one very scarce. . Near Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1966.

Sampson Low, Marston, Searle & Rivington. First editions published by Sampson Low, Marston, Searle & Rivington in 1890. In the original publisher's cloth with an elaborate gilt design and lettering to the spines. This two-volume set is in a bright and fresh, near fine condition. The binding has a trivial amount of wear to the corner tips and spine ends. A previous owner has written his name in pencil to the inside boards and added a small label with presumably a reference number for his library. Preliminary pages are uncut. All maps and illustrations present, the fold out maps have tears at the joins, which is not uncommon for this set. Stanley's account of his Emin Pasha relief expedition. It would be an ill-fated journey that would tarnish Stanley's name due to the behaviour of Europeans that were part of his team, and due to many lost lives. Stanley would find Pasha but also worked on his secondary purpose that of annexing territory for his paymaster. A rare set to find in…

Description:
Rider & Co. First UK edition published by Rider & Co in 1937. This is a very good copy. The jacket is torn at the top and bottom of the spine and twice to the bottom of the back panel. There is chipping to the corners. It displays the price on the spine of 5/- net. The jacket is worn in places albeit scarce to find in any condition. The book itself is in excellent condition with very clean boards and paper. There are minor foxing marks to a couple of pages. Overall a very good copy. The Canadian travel writer claimed to have travelled into Tibet in disguise during the 1930's and then wrote two books about what he claims he saw, this was the first one 'In Secret Tibet'. His observations bore more than just a resemblance to Alexandra David-Neel's 'In Magic and Mystery in Tibet' published several years before. Not perturbed by the criticism levelled at him, he 'doubled down' and wrote 'Darkness over…
