N.p., Circa early 1960s. Very Good. V1 N1, no publication date or publisher. Formerly "Lark" magazine, one of a few "magazine for Sheiks" titles to be published around the turn of the decade, including titles like Fling, purporting to be for the man with a plethora of sexual conquests to choose from. Short-lived, less than 10 issues, not to be confused w/ other "Harem" titled magazines. Features topless nude models throughout, fiction, humor, cartoons, & articles. This issue features house favorite Shirley Kilpatrick on the front panel, topless, wearing black skirt, red plastic belt, diamond-studded garter, fishnet nylons, & red bandana. Shirley's natural red hair & angelic face perfectly accessible, as this issue often seen w/ title banner excised (a practice to denote remainder copies for the publisher). Periodical House, 1957-58. Very Good. Six issues of vintage pin-up magazines, a selection of the short-lived oblong pocket magazines, perhaps designed to accompany the habitual "man on the go": fold pin-up magazines in half, place in shirt pocket, return to incessantly. Bent on pin-ups & music, great illustrations (some by Alvin Hollingsworth, Black artist of Harlem), boxing, "photo stories," color centerfolds (where stated). After issue one, Hi, title changed to High, and after these six issues became standard-size. Periodical House also published Ho!, but that too folded early, after just 2 issues. Distributed by Ace. Included are the first six issues, complete set of the oblong editions: May 1957, August 1957, October 1957, December 1957, February 1958, April 1958. Highlights: Harold Robbins, James J. Pappas, Ed Lettau, Weegee, boxing, Bob Willoughby (breastplacy), Wing, French cartoons, Lee Sharon, Marlyn Maher, French prostitution, Elvis Presley, Maria Stinger, Bunny Yeager, Gerry Low, Graphic Hous ... Wilmot Enterprises, 1960. Very Good. V2 N3, Jan 1960. Bimonthly mag that gave it an honest try but failed after a few years. Classic looks on the low end. B/W/Color throughout. Terry Higgins front cover photo; also used for an Italian vintage paperback (Super Poliziesco 9, Gialli Blu: "Coca-Boom!" by Anthony Mayer). Terry is probably in her 20s in this photo, with her unmistakable glassy stare and short blonde crop. An uncommon image featuring a mostly clothed Higgins. Models - Pat Von Berkhardt, Maria Stinger (eerily dark-haired), Melody Ward, Kim Athos (cowgirl), topless drummer. Authors/Artists - Connie Sellers, Absens, Bill Wenzel, Reamer Keller, Manent, Charles Dennis, Dan de Carlo, Bob Tupper. Very Good with corner-creasing to the covers, light wrinkling overall, 3-inch split to spine.
