New Jersey: H.M. Voorhees & Bros, 1915. Cover wear.. The clothes company shares a story that tells of a bunch boys getting into adventures and troubles. 10 pp. Self covers. Each little man gets a short, few line verse about their activities, like the first smoked his dad's cigar and got sick,or the second got lost at sea, and the fifth ate until he could not anymore. All eight of the boys are declared to be naughty. For each story about a boy there is an accompanying black and white illustration with red accents. On the back cover is a poem that describes the various products that H.M. Voorhees and Bros offered, like clothes for boys until fourteen, "ready-to-wear" clothing, and baby clothes. Note the number sequence of "merry little man" is not in the order of 1,2,3,4. It also states that this book is just a token of their appreciation and friendship. Staple booklet. Measures 7 3/4" 5 1/2

Atlantic City, NJ: Chalfonte-Haddon Hall, 1930. Age toning and minor soiling.. A single fold flyer, done in an art deco style, advertising Haddon Hall, a spa apart of the casino and resort known as Chalfonte-Haddon Hall. The cover of the flyer features a sun with its rays of light shinning down on two figures- a man and a woman each wrapped in a towel. The woman is on the front of the flyer while the man is on the back. The interior of the flyer lists the benefits of their health baths. These baths included included the use of 'super-sun', which was ultra violet light and infra red rays given out by specialized lamps. These lights were designed to give a 'healthily tan', much like modern day tanning beds. Two illustrations are at the base of the flyer, depicting a man getting a massage and a woman using the 'super-sun' lamps. Measures 8 3/4" x 3 3/4" (folded), 8 3/4" x 7 1/2" (unfolded).

One of the folds on the map has toning due to air exposure. Separations on the folds in a few places, one has been repaired with a small piece of tape.. 16 fold steel engraving by Friedrich Hirchenhein. Concertina panorama. Black stamped board. Date inferred by inscription. A wonderful panorama tourist map that depicts the Rhine River in Germany from th town of Mayence, otherwise known as Mainz, to Cologne. In the center of the map, running the entire length is an engraving of an ariel view of the Rhine and the surrounding towns. There are 52 smaller engravings, illustrating numerous monuments, statues, castles, churches and bridges, featured along side the birds-eye-view of the Rhine. 1910. Two different Good Luck Mystery Beauty Birds. Each constructed of an array of brightly colored flowers with watercolor background decoration. The first is housed in a heavy card stock frame with easel back. It is 4 1/2" in length. The frame promotes Badger State Cheese Co. and appears to be a calendar back. The second is housed in a faux suede frame. The bird measures 3 1/2". These birds in a smaller version were often found on Victorian visiting cards. Found along with the birds a printed Story of the "Good Luck Mystery Beauty Birds" According to ancient Aztec lore, to possession of these Mystery Birds was to have the blessing of the Gods--the Gods of Good Omen, Good Fortune and Good Luck. The extensive overview includes information their origins and how the art in plumage and feather design was been passed down.

A handbound grouping of three issues of the Religious Intelligencer, an Evangelistic serial publication which ran between 1816 and 1835. Includes Vol. VIII, No. 18-20, which were published in October 1823. The majority of the publication has variety of letters and reports of missionary societies and their work all over the world. For example, there are excerpts from Rev. Joseph Wolff's journal from his mission to the Jews in Palestine in 1821-1822 and excerpts from a mission on the "Great Osage Mission" which sent missionaries to Kansas to convert the people of the Osage Nation. 1911. Light wear. Scrapbook residue on reverse.. A 22 leaf hand constructed book with stock covers created in a triangular shape by folding the corners inward. Scraps of turkeys on the front cover. When the corners are a hidden message is revealed. Each sentiment was written by a different friend. Some appear to be addressed to each other versus a single individual. When opened the first page reads "Love" "Friendship: Be sure and shake the turkey's paw for me - Thanksgiving. The outside of the page is addressed to "Abbie" the author. Much talk about football and other activities of probably pre-teen children.

Pièces de Confection" is a completely unique, handmade book that showcases the skills of an unidentified French tailor or seamstress. Each page features one to three squares of sewn fabric; there are 32 squares of fabric in total. Each square is labeled carefully in black ink, and shows a different skill or offering from the maker. Examples include: "Patte indéchirable" (ripstop tab); "Bordé en Forme" (edging tailored to shape); "Col chale" (shawl-style collar); and several kinds of "poches", or pockets. Materials used include tweed, cotton, satin, and thread. The upper wrapper features original gouache art of a young boy fishing and a young girl toting a comically large fish, giving the object a quirky and charismatic energy. Folio (12.5" by 9.5"), 16 unnumbered pages, gatherings held in place with pink ribbon. Fine and meticulous work.

One side is has painted border decoration and a polka dot painted design on the weaving. The reverse has checkerboard style painting at the base with polka dot emphasis. Measures 4 1/2" x 5 1/4. Description:
Philadelphia, PA, [1890]. Age toning and crease marks. . A two-sided handbill promoting the 'Levis' Metallic Splint' which were made from copper and as such much lighter and comfortable than the other options of the day, which were mostly made out of wood. The circular was advertising a set of 21 pieces for $15 and features splints to be used for various finger, arm, or leg injurious. The splints in the set came in both child and adult sized. There are seven illustrated examples of the splints in use. The creator of this splints was Richard J. Levis, a Civil War doctor who was a surgeon at the Pennsylvania Hospital. While the there is no date on the circular, Leach & Greene appear to have been in business at the Tremont Street location in the late 1880 to the early 1890s. Some of the same illustrations found on the circular were also used in a variety of medical supply catalogues around the same time. Single sheet, double-sided, green paper. Measures 9 3/4" x 5 3/4"
