Bern, Switzerland: Verlag Stampfli , 1958. Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. A fascinating little book showcasing the work of the Swiss artist and designer Hans Hartmann, covering some of his early work from art school in the 30s and extending into more client centered design work. The boards, originally white, are somewhat tones, and there's a small stain to the top edge at the spine. Front board is slightly bowed, but internally this book is in excellent condition, including several translucent onionskin pages that function as overlays--no folds/creases/marks within the text. No jacket, as issued. Contains a brief introductory essay in German. Exceptionally rare to find for sale, a fascinating little book for the mid-century graphic design afficionado.

Grosset & Dunlap, 1972. Pictorial Cover. Near Fine. The second version of this way groovy guide to crimefighting. This copy has the blue spine (no voume number) and back cover, with a title list to volume 55 Witchmaster's Key, dating the printing to around 1976 or so. The front cover is black with the groovy 70's art of Joe and Frank. Endpapers are solid white. Back cover has a price printed of $3.95. Book is slightly larger than a standard Hardy Boys -- about 1/2" taller and 1/4" wider. The text is a collection of short stories With Frank and Joe learning a valuable lesson in detecting each time. Completey hilarious is Chapter 9 - High Danger -- about the dangers of drug abuse!

Set in an American POW camp run by the Germans, a young Lieutenant and lawyer is set to defend an African American officer accused of a brutal crime. NF in a VG+ jacket with some overall shelfwear, and a bit of a bow at bottom front. First printing.

Presumed first printing; internal lists to self, placing this copy circa 1959. No writing, very clean; endpapers are bright green and lovely. Wrap dust jacket also lists to self on rear flap; front flap contains a title synopsis. Back cover is an uncommon list of Nancy Drew with the logo in red, listing to Golden Pavilion (also published in 1959).Jacket has an unfortunate smush and closed tear starting at the top of the spine resulting in creasing across the front of the jacket and also some damage where a price sticker was removed. Not terrible but is protected in Brodart.

Orange silhouette endpapers. Glossy frontispiece by Tandy. Lists to self on the copyright page. 220 pages, no lists in the back. NO dust jacket. Pages are tight and clean. Boards show expected wear, and the spine is quite faded and beginning to fray at the top. Page ends are foxed -- top page ends are red. Overall a solid B+ considering the age of the book.
