Re-backed, covers faded, chipped with loss to fore-edge of upper cover and with small amount of loss to fore-edge of lower cover and lower corner, previous owners name and date in ink to head of upper cover. Internally lightly foxed to title, text with light sporadic foxing, mainly to fore-edge margin, but generally fairly clean. Signed by the author, 'From the author E. Blunden', to the blank page preceding the text. Now housed in a velvet lined cloth drop back box made by Temple Bookbinders, with the title to spine and upper cover. Kirkpatrick notes that two hundred copies were printed. This being Kirkpatrick A4 and A5 bound together with a cancel title, Kirkpatrick A6 designating it as first edition, second impression.
