With a double-page table and 24 illustrations on 20 woodengraved plates. ¶ Facsimile reprint in 500 copies, Amsterdam, Meesters, 1977. At the time of its publication in 1854, Krook's Handboek was the most comprehensive work on Cacti available in Dutch.

Very finely bound in recent half marbled calf, gilt lettered on red morocco labels, gilt numbered, 5 blind rullers on spine. With 1 folded table. ¶ Of greatest rarity, only 5 copies held in libraries worldwide(the Netherlands), but no copy with this variant title-page, e.g. vol. I with the date 1849 instead of 1846, and Moleschott's name as translator omitted. First (and only) Dutch translation of Rokitansky's "Handbuch d. speciellen Pathologische Anatomie", one of the great classics in medical history. A very fine copy in a splendid binding.-- (Title-pages slightly browned; half-title of volume II seems to be lacking; Copy with the cancelled library stamp, Univ. of Amsterdam!).

Profusely illustrated with plates and illustrations, chiefly in colour. ¶ Auction catalogue of the extraordinary library of rare books in the history of science and medicine collected by Dr. Haskell Norman, one of the finest of its kind. The collection consist mainly of "corner stones" of scientific literature and book production. Including also is one of the finest collection of Sigmund Freud publications, many of the with Freud's authograph dedications. All lot (nearly 2500) are veyr carefully described with detailed learned and bibliographical annotations, as well as numerous cross-references and many fine illustrations. Part I: The Middle Ages and Renaisance, Part II: The Age of Reason, Part III: The Modern Age. A very fine, as new.

Richly illustrated with 137 coloured illustrations on 64 plates after the 'moulages''(wax models) of F. Kolbow, A. Tempelhoff, M. Landsberg & A. Kröner. ¶ This wellknown atlas is a masterpiece of medical illustration.

With numerous illustrations (some coloured) taken from ancient book illustrations. ¶ Last and best edition of this classic reference work. Contemporary full marbled calf, spine with raised bands and in compartments gilt decorated with floral design; contemporary marbled end-papers; speckled edges (corners very slightly bumped and worn; hinges show some light traces of use, but a solid and attractive binding). With a few woodcut figures in the text. ¶ Lindeboom 315. First published at Leiden in 1917, this is the first edition printed in France but without Boerhaave's consent (all Cavelier Boerhaave imprints are pirate editions). "One of Boerhaave's pupils published an adaptation of his "Libellus de materie medica", greatly amplified from the lectures of his master. The succes of this spurious edition, followed by many reprints, show clearly how much Boerhaave's teaching on the medical treatement of diseases was valued" (Lindeboom p. 59). (N.pl., Eindhoven?): (Philips), (1945). 24 pp. Small 8vo. (12.5 x 20.5 cm.). Original printed wrappers. With illustrations and 2 coloured plates. ¶ An attractive designed prospectus(the first?) for promoting Philips' famous 'INFRAPHIL'. A Philips item that was in nearly every Dutch house some forty years ago. Philips convinced their customers that this lamp could relief sore, fatigued muscles and even rheumatism because of the hyperaemy inducted by its infrared rays. Today the Infraphil is still popular in Germany. Nice copy, hard to find.

This is the compiler's own copy with her annotations in red for a shadow collection of this fine collection of Dutch Art Nouveau book production. A unique copy.

Sides richly tooled in gold, panel design with drawer handle motifs and interlacings à la pointillé. Spine with 6 raised bands, in compartments gilt decorated with floral motifs (outer corners of sides very slightly rubbed). With an engraved frontispiece and 5 engraved plates. ¶ A very rare exemple of a frivolously binding on a Calvinistic work. There are not many Dutch (speudo) Fanfare bindings known.
