Correa, Paris, 1956. First Edition. Softcover. Very Good. Signed. Inscribed (for friend and collector Pierre Sicari), SIGNED, and dated by Henry Miller on the front endpaper. The covers have light edge wear, witih tipped corners, and a short (1/4") closed tear on the top edge of the rear panel. The spine is lightly sunned. Pierre Sicari's bookplate is on the reverse of the front cover, the pages are lightly toned, and some are unopened. First printing in France; text is in FRENCH.

Carrefour, 1943. Softcover. Good. Signed. Second printing. Inscribed (to good friend and collector, Pierre Sicari), SIGNED, and dated by Henry Miller on the half title page. The covers are soiled, edge rubbed with a few closed tears, and there is a 1 1/4" split at the bottom of the front spine joint. The pages are age toned and the front endpaper is partially separated from the spine.

Putnam, 1975. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. The volume is bumped at the corners and spine ends, and has light foxing on the top edges. The unclipped dust jacket is rubbed on the flap folds, lightly chipped at the spine ends and corners, and sun washed on the spine with the orange color in "Hammett" being a yellow-pink color. The jacket is now protected in mylar.

G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1883. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Bound in 3/4 brown Morocco over marbled boards, 5 raised bands on lighter toned spine, spine compartments stamped in gilt, top edges gilt, marbled endpapers. The volume is lightly bumped on the corners, gently sunned on the top edges, has offsetting to the perimeters of the endpapers, (from the leather overlap on the pastedowns), and there is a small stained area at the top of the fore-edges caused, we feel, by an overapplication of top gilding.

Longmans, Green, and Co., New York, 1897. Hardcover. Very Good. Blue cloth, gilt stamped spine lettering, beveled edges, top edge gilt. The volume is very lilghtly edge rubbed and has a mildly sunned spine. There is a small bookseller's label on the base of the front endpaper, and the pastedowns and endpapers have light foxing and offsetting. The pages, upon opening, are a bit stiff rather than supple.

Bern Porter, 1945. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good -/Good +. Limited to 750 copies published in 1945, this is # 449. Over 30 writer's offer tributes to Henry Miller in this publication. The jacket is gold foil on top of black backing over cloth (Shifreen & Jackson call for a white jacket) and it has been taped to itself for stability. This has caused offsetting to the endpapers and the tape has left imprints on both front and rear endpapers. The jacket is sunned on the spine, frayed at the spine ends, has two splits on the rear fold down to the black backing, and a short split on the front fold. The cloth undercoating has left footprints on the pastedowns and boards. The text is notable for the multiple colors of paper, changing, seemingly indiscriminately, in the middle of a writer's tribute.

Antheneum, 1982-02. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Signed. SIGNED, without inscription, by Garrison Keillor on the title page. The volume, with light shelf wear, is in a lightly edgeworn, unclipped dust jacket. The jacket, now in protective mylar, has two short closed tears on the rear panel and a short triangular crease on the rear flap.

West End Press, 1999-08-01. Softcover. Very Good. Signed. Second printing. Inscribed to poet Jim LeCuyer, SIGNED, and dated by Sharon Doubiago on the title page. The volume has some dge rubbing, with gently tipped corners, and the covers lightly flair out.

The volume, which is a bit over opened at the title page, has some light binding wrinkling, emanating from the gutter, on the bibliography and title pages and there is a faint impression (as from as paper clip) on four leaves, starting on the title page. The dust jacket, sleeved in mylar, is price clipped on the bottom corner of the front flap and a price sticker has been placed above the clip.
