50 volumes.
Not complete. Set has several duplicates and is missing several volumes. 50 volumes but not complete. The gilding on the spines is rubbed off.
Poor to good external condition. A lot of wear and abrasion. Good is it a good book grade.
Very good paper. The paper is still fresh bright and clean. Looseness and internal hinge paper splits. If condition matters please do not buy this set. I have other sets in better condition. First edition set. 1909-1914. The historical bindings version. With distinctive ornately gilded covers.
The spines have a lot of shelf wear. Abrasions and rubbing to the spines. Some of the gilding is lost. Not complete. The whole set is 50 volumes, but I think there are 2-3 duplicates.

Poor condition. Set is complete 1-50. + the Lectures volume. The Lectures volume has the same scales cover but the spine looks different. I think it was issued this way. Poor condition. This set set has a lot of looseness, internal hinge papers split, loose, generalized usage wear. Dirt, signs of use. The paper is still good and it still displays as an old rustic set. This scales binding of the first edition precedes the more popular Southwark (dark green) and Cambridge (crimson maroon) editions. Heavy usage and shelf wear. I find this set attractive but a majority of the population will be disappointed by the condition. If condition matters please do not buy this set. It has heavy usage wear.
