She graduated from Rice Institute and was the first woman editor of the school paper, The Thresher. They lived mostly in Houston, but did live in Washington when Jim served as Assistant Postmaster-General and then Canberra when he was US Ambassador to Australia. Marion's sister, Carol, also singed the book - "Merry Christmas! Dec 1981." It appears Carol met the author and had him inscribe the book for Marion and Jim in November and then gave the inscribed book to Carol for Christmas. Book is Good+ condition only.
