With 20 large color plates showing a variety of fish species with descriptive text in the lower margin of each plate. The plates are laid-in a folding pocket on the inside of the book and the text by G. Brown Goode is bound in on the opposite side of the book; it includes a black and white image of each fish species described. This edition is a facsimile printing of the rare and really expensive 1879 edition. The book is bound in blue leatherette spine and blue cloth with gilt titles and a gilt Bass on the front cover. The book and the plates are as nice as you’ll likely see. It’s all in fine condition..
