Wear and rubbing to the edges of both volumes' boards and bumping to the heads and heels of the spines. The djs of both volumes are worn and rubbed along the edges with many tears and chips missing and some soiling also. The front cover of the dj of volume I is just barley attached to the rest of the dj and has been heavily repaired with tape on its backside. The dj of volume II has large chip missing from the lower edge of the front cover (2 inches tall and about 4 inches wide) and has also been extensively repaired with tape on its underside. Both volume shave bookplates on their front pastedown endpapers. There is also some light browning to the pages. A little bit of loosness to the lower edge of the binding on volume I. 640 total pages with illustrations and footnotes.

An unusual, uncommon, and well illustrated book from the victorious Ottoman Turkish side of this major Allied defeat.

The entries are from his 1950's newspaper column as a food critic, rather than his earlier column from the 1930s and 40s. Uncommon, esp. in the West.

Last page has a closed tear at top of page, and a repaired one along the side. viii, 389 p. Only edition of this thorough work on these two New Wngland states, with descriptions of each county, most towns, manufacturing, population, biographies of important citizens, and much more. Howes P166, Sabin 59466. An entertaining and detailed survey of a particular area and time in early American history.
