The covers are rubbed and soiled with wear to the edges and corners and the spine is chipped. The pagination is as follows: pages [i]-vi, [i], 8-165, & [3]. The top edges of the title and preface pages have been clipped with no loss of text. There is offsetting and occasional foxing throughout with several page corners creased. An early owner's name is penned at the top of page 136. A complete copy which would be well worth rebinding. The 4-page preface to this French language book of Fables for American seeking to learn the language is in English. This little volume includes a 67-page French-English glossary on pages 99 through 165 and a 3-page catalog in English of "Books published and for sale by Warner & Hanna".

Very good. <p>In a note on the fourth page, Percy MacKaye writes that the photograph of Marion Morse reproduced on page 3 was given to her by him as a wedding present two days before their marriage in October 1898. Twenty years later, at their home in New Hampshire, she wrote the passage from her journal reprinted here about the eternal bond of their love.
