Grant Richards published 800 copies for distribution to members of the Fabian Society. It seems that not all of these found their way to members as in 1908 the Society authorised the binding up, as here, of 189 copies to be sold at 2s each. Shaw styles himself as merely the editor of the book, but his voice can be heard in every sentence.Endpapers very slightly spotted. Bump to bottom edge of front cover. Very good indeed.

The recipient was one of the editors at Lilliput magazine where Nash was a regular contributor. She later made her name at Puffin Books where she published some of Nash's books.
